Full job description

Designation: Pipeline Pilot Protocol (PLP) Developer

Qualification: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, Chemistry or related field.

Certifications (if any):

Certification in Pipeline Pilot or Scientific Workflow Tools (preferred)
Relevant certifications in Data Science, Cheminformatics or Software Development (optional)

Experience: Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in Pipeline Pilot Protocol (PLP) development, scientific workflow automation and data integration within life sciences or drug discovery environments.

Work Location & Timing: Remote (India) - Working in collaboration with US Service Delivery Team, supporting US Biopharmaceutical clients. Must be willing to work in full-time US (PST) business hours.

Job Role: The Pipeline Pilot Protocol (PLP) Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing data workflows and automation protocols using BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot. The role involves working closely with scientific, research, and technology teams to streamline scientific data processing, integration, analysis, and reporting across drug discovery and development processes. The candidate will develop scalable and reusable computational workflows, implement data-processing automation, and support integration with scientific applications and databases. The role will contribute to improving research productivity, data quality, workflow efficiency, and data-driven decision-making through robust and reliable Pipeline Pilot solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop and maintain Pipeline Pilot protocols and workflows for scientific data integration, processing, analysis and reporting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including scientists, researchers, data analysts and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into effective computational solutions
Automate data processing and analysis workflows to improve efficiency, consistency and productivity across research and development activities
Integrate Pipeline Pilot with databases, APIs, external scientific tools and enterprise systems to enable seamless data exchange
Troubleshoot, optimize and enhance existing protocols and workflows for improved performance, scalability, reliability and reusability
Document protocols, workflows, configurations, technical specifications and support procedures in accordance with established development standards
Ensure compliance with applicable data standards, quality processes and regulatory requirements within a Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical environment

Required Skills:

Hands-on experience with BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot, including protocol development, customization and workflow automation
Strong programming and scripting skills using Pilot script and languages such as Python, Java or Perl
Knowledge of scientific data processing, cheminformatics, bioinformatics or computational research workflows
Experience with data integration, ETL processes, APIs and automated scientific workflows
Familiarity with relational databases, SQL and database integration within Pipeline Pilot
Understanding of Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical R&D, particularly drug discovery and development processes
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to optimize scalable and reliable workflows

Desired Skills:

Experience with advanced Pipeline Pilot protocol development, customization and performance optimization
Proficiency in Python, Java, Perl or other scripting/programming languages for scientific workflow automation
Knowledge of cheminformatics, bioinformatics, computational chemistry or scientific data processing
Experience with data integration, ETL processes, APIs and workflow automation across scientific and enterprise systems
Familiarity with relational databases, SQL and Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical R&D data environments
