Over more than Four decades of service in the field of water and wastewater treatment, the company has successfully supplied and executed plants across India . Presently executing projects for MCGM , PCMC and others using latest MBR , MBBR , SBR , UF based STP and high capacity pumping stations projects . In order to meet large Water and Sanitation challenges of India through NMCG, Amrut 2.0 , Swattch Bharat and Jal Jeevan Mission , GEL is expanding its reach across India and looking for experienced experts to partner with GEL for its success story.
As of today, Gondwana has implemented:
- 120+ Water Treatment Plants , Treating over 2000 MLD of water per day
- 20+ Sewage Treatment Plants . Processing over 200 MLD of sewage per day across the country
Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth in the water and wastewater infrastructure sector across designated territories in India. The role requires strong technical sales expertise, government liaison capabilities, and extensive exposure to infrastructure tenders and EPC business models.
The candidate will actively engage with government departments, consultants, EPC contractors, municipal corporations, and industrial clients to promote Gondwana’s water and wastewater treatment technologies and secure new business opportunities.
Qualification Requirements
- BE / B.Tech / Diploma / B.Sc. in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering disciplines
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in business development, tendering, or government liaisoning within infrastructure or EPC sectors
Preferred Industry Experience
Candidates with experience in EPC and infrastructure companies involved in Government Water & Wastewater Projects will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in water treatment, wastewater treatment, recycling, and piping infrastructure projects
- Build strong relationships with government authorities, municipal corporations, consultants, EPC contractors, industrial houses, and policy makers
- Promote company technologies and solutions by highlighting advantages over conventional market products
- Support consultants and authorities in developing technical specifications that align with company offerings and improve project win probability
- Monitor upcoming infrastructure projects and tender opportunities across assigned territories
Tendering & Government Liaison
- Review and analyze tenders, RFPs, and bidding opportunities
- Participate in bid preparation, bid analysis, and commercial negotiations
- Coordinate JV partnering opportunities under EPC, PPP, HAM, and similar business models
- Engage with government departments and authorities for project follow-up and business development activities
- Develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders for long-term business growth
Technical & Commercial Coordination
- Understand project technicalities, commercial terms, and tender conditions
- Coordinate internally for cost-competitive and technically compliant bidding
- Support preparation of presentations, technical submissions, and proposal documentation
- Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis for strategic positioning
Technical Skills Required
- Knowledge of Engineering, Environmental, Water & Wastewater Management systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and internet-based research
- Familiarity with tender websites and e-procurement portals
- Understanding of tender study, bid preparation, bid analysis, and infrastructure contracting models
- Ability to evaluate technical and commercial aspects of infrastructure projects

- Strong liaisoning and relationship management skills with Government Officials and Agencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Self-motivated with high levels of patience and determination
- Willingness to travel approximately 10-12 days per month across assigned territories
