Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior / Principal DevOps / Platform Engineer to own and manage the complete infrastructure lifecycle for a production-grade, cloud-native platform operating in a secure and regulated environment. This role requires expertise in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, observability, security, and production operations.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, securing, and operating highly available cloud platforms while collaborating with architects and engineering teams to ensure reliability, scalability, compliance, and operational excellence. This is a hands-on engineering role with end-to-end ownership of production infrastructure and DevOps practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesCloud Platform & Infrastructure
- Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments.
- Deploy, operate, and optimize managed Kubernetes clusters, including autoscaling, node pools, upgrades, maintenance, and workload scheduling.
- Manage Kubernetes manifests using Kustomize and implement GitOps best practices.
- Configure and maintain cloud networking components including virtual networks, subnets, security groups, private endpoints, DNS, and network peering.
- Implement cloud-native identity management using managed identities and workload identity mechanisms.
- Ensure platform availability, scalability, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness.
DevOps & CI/CD
- Design, build, and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for backend, frontend, and authentication services.
- Implement automated build, testing, deployment, and release workflows.
- Manage container image publishing, promotion, and artifact versioning.
- Enforce automated quality gates, vulnerability scanning, and secure release management.
- Maintain environment promotion strategies with approval workflows.
- Develop local development environments that closely mirror production infrastructure.
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows.
- Develop automation tools using Python and Bash scripting.
- Maintain Git-based infrastructure repositories and infrastructure lifecycle management.
Kubernetes & Container Platform
- Manage production Kubernetes environments and cluster lifecycle.
- Implement Kubernetes security policies, RBAC, Network Policies, and Pod Security standards.
- Maintain hardened container images aligned with enterprise security requirements.
- Optimize Docker builds using multi-stage builds and caching.
- Manage container registries, image lifecycle, retention, and cleanup policies.
- Support debugging using ephemeral containers and sidecar patterns.
Secrets & Configuration Management
- Implement centralized secrets management and key management solutions.
- Manage Kubernetes ConfigMaps and Secrets through GitOps workflows.
- Eliminate credential-based authentication using managed identities and role-based access control.
- Maintain secure environment-specific configuration management.
Database & Data Platform Operations
- Administer managed PostgreSQL databases including:
- Performance tuning
- Connection pooling
- Backup and recovery
- High availability
- Zero-downtime schema migrations
- Manage Redis deployments for caching and session management.
- Support cloud object storage lifecycle policies and secure access controls.
- Assist with data pipeline orchestration and integration with analytics platforms.
Observability & Production Operations
- Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing solutions.
- Implement OpenTelemetry for application observability.
- Create dashboards for infrastructure health, application performance, databases, caching, and CI/CD metrics.
- Define alerting strategies and incident response procedures.
- Maintain production runbooks, operational documentation, and post-incident reports.
- Participate in on-call support and production troubleshooting.
Security & Compliance
- Configure Web Application Firewall (WAF), API Gateway, and edge security services.
- Implement Kubernetes network segmentation and workload isolation.
- Perform regular infrastructure vulnerability assessments and container security scanning.
- Manage encryption, audit logging, identity, and access management.
- Participate in infrastructure threat modeling and security reviews.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory standards.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, security teams, and platform engineers.
- Review and approve infrastructure pull requests.
- Plan and execute platform upgrades and maintenance activities.
- Mentor engineers on Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and automation best practices.
- Define and maintain engineering standards, operational guidelines, and platform documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Infrastructure.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and working knowledge of AWS.
- Extensive production experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Hands-on expertise with Docker and enterprise container registries.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
- Experience designing and maintaining GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of GitOps principles and infrastructure version control.
- Experience managing PostgreSQL production environments.
- Hands-on experience with Redis administration and optimization.
- Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions using OpenTelemetry.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, DNS, load balancing, virtual networking, and private connectivity.
- Experience implementing WAF, API Gateway, RBAC, Network Policies, and cloud security controls.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.
- Experience with YAML, JSON, Kubernetes manifests, and automation frameworks.
- Excellent troubleshooting, incident response, and production support skills.
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Knowledge of identity and access management systems.
- Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
- Experience developing and maintaining Helm charts.
- Exposure to analytics platforms and modern data infrastructure.
- Advanced Kubernetes debugging, cluster administration, and RBAC troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with SLOs, SLAs, error budgets, and Site Reliability Engineering practices.
- Cloud certifications such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), or Terraform are highly desirable.
