Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Platform Engineer to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure Cloud Services, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Kubernetes, automation, and cloud security. You will play a key role in building and maintaining cloud platforms, optimizing infrastructure performance, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring compliance with security and governance standards.
This role requires close collaboration with development, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable cloud-native solutions while driving automation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesAzure Cloud Platform
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Azure workloads across development, testing, and production environments.
- Monitor platform performance and implement best practices for reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Develop and execute disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment.
- Maintain reusable infrastructure templates and enforce version control best practices.
DevOps & CI/CD
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as:
- Git
- GitHub Actions
- Jenkins
- SonarQube
- CodeQL
- Collaborate with development teams to automate application deployment and release processes.
- Improve deployment efficiency through automation and continuous integration practices.
Containerization & Kubernetes
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker.
- Administer and optimize Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Monitor container health, performance, and availability.
- Implement Kubernetes best practices for scaling, networking, and security.
Security & Compliance
- Implement Azure security best practices using:
- Azure Security Center (Microsoft Defender for Cloud)
- Azure Active Directory (Azure AD)
- Azure Key Vault
- Conduct vulnerability scans, security assessments, and remediation activities.
- Enforce secure coding practices and cloud security standards.
- Implement regulatory compliance controls for Azure infrastructure.
- Manage identity, access control, secrets, and encryption.
Monitoring & Incident Management
- Monitor cloud infrastructure using tools such as:
- Splunk
- Dynatrace
- New Relic
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for infrastructure and application issues.
- Develop monitoring dashboards, alerts, and operational reports.
- Ensure platform stability through proactive monitoring and incident response.
Documentation & Collaboration
- Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational runbooks.
- Define cloud infrastructure standards and best practices.
- Work closely with developers, architects, and security teams to deliver cloud solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on Azure technologies and DevOps practices.
Cost Optimization
- Monitor Azure resource utilization and recommend cost optimization strategies.
- Implement governance policies to maximize cloud efficiency while maintaining performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in Azure Cloud Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet).
- Experience with Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Git, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, SonarQube, and CodeQL.
- Experience with cloud monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or New Relic.
- Strong understanding of Azure Security Center (Microsoft Defender for Cloud), Azure Active Directory, and Azure Key Vault.
- Experience performing vulnerability management, security assessments, and remediation.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and DevSecOps principles.
- Experience implementing cloud governance and regulatory compliance controls.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
