Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in product design, fabrication, assembly, testing, validation, and new product development. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in R&D-driven product development and should be capable of converting concepts into production-ready products.
The candidate should have extensive experience in designing fabricated structures, sheet metal assemblies, welded components, mechanical systems, and electromechanical products while coordinating closely with manufacturing, procurement, quality, and service teams.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Development
- Lead end-to-end mechanical product development from concept to commercialization.
- Design innovative mechanical systems, fabricated structures, assemblies, and mechanisms.
- Prepare detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
- Perform design calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, material selection, and cost optimization.
- Develop modular product architectures for scalable manufacturing.
- Conduct value engineering and design optimization.
Research & Development
- Participate in new product ideation and technology evaluation.
- Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept models.
- Conduct engineering feasibility studies.
- Benchmark competitor products and recommend design improvements.
- Identify opportunities for product innovation and patentable ideas.
Fabrication & Manufacturing Support
- Design components suitable for fabrication processes including:
- Sheet Metal
- Structural Fabrication
- Welding
- Machining
- Laser Cutting
- CNC Manufacturing
- Resolve fabrication issues during prototype and production stages.
- Ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
Assembly & Integration
- Develop assembly procedures and work instructions.
- Supervise prototype and pilot assembly.
- Troubleshoot assembly-related issues.
- Improve assembly efficiency through design modifications.
- Collaborate with production teams during product industrialization.
Testing & Validation
- Prepare product validation plans.
- Conduct functional testing and reliability testing.
- Perform design verification and validation (DVP&R).
- Analyze failures using Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Implement corrective design actions.
- Ensure products meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Engineering Documentation

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Mechanical Design and R&D.
- Proven experience in fabrication, welding, sheet metal, structural design, assembly, testing, and validation.
- Strong exposure to prototype development and new product development (NPD).
- Experience taking products from concept through design, prototyping, validation, and production.
- Hands-on experience working on the shop floor with fabrication and assembly teams.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and engineering documentation.
- Ability to independently lead engineering projects and mentor junior engineers.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
