Migration Coordinator – On-Premises to Azure

The Migration Coordinator will support Microsoft Azure cloud migration projects, specifically the migration of customer workloads, servers, and applications from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure.

The role is responsible for coordinating migration activities, collecting and maintaining accurate migration data, working closely with workload owners and technical migration teams, and ensuring smooth execution of migrations from planning through post-migration validation.

Responsibilities

Create, maintain, and continuously update server/workload inventory files for On-Premises to Azure migrations.
Coordinate with workload/application owners to collect migration-related technical and business information.
Plan and conduct migration interviews/workshops with workload owners and document the outcomes.
Coordinate migration schedules, waves, and downtime windows with workload owners and Azure migration teams.
Support the end-to-end coordination of workloads moving from On-Prem infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, working closely with the technical lead.
Track migration readiness, dependencies, risks, issues, and blockers.
Maintain structured documentation covering migration activities, technical issues, decisions, and resolutions.
Track and report migration metrics following each completed Azure migration.
Coordinate post-migration testing with workload owners and obtain confirmation of successful migration.
Provide migration status, progress, risks, and metrics to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.
Support Azure migration engineers/technical teams with day-to-day migration activities.
Assist with reviewing migration-related applications, workloads, processes, and documentation.
Maintain and continuously improve migration questionnaires/checklists based on technical team inputs.

Required Skills

Good understanding of Microsoft Azure and cloud migration concepts.
Understanding of On-Premises to Azure migration processes and lifecycle.
Familiarity with server/workload discovery, assessment, migration planning, execution, and post-migration validation.
Strong customer service, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Ability to coordinate between workload owners, technical teams, and project management.
Ability to work independently, reduce complexity, and deliver results.
High attention to detail and accuracy with a strong problem-solving mindset.
Structured, organised, and methodical approach to migration tracking and documentation.
Strong collaboration and team-working skills.

Required Experience

Minimum 7 years of experience in technical support, infrastructure/cloud operations, migration coordination, or a comparable customer-facing technical environment.
Relevant experience supporting or coordinating cloud migration projects, preferably On-Premises to Microsoft Azure.
Experience managing server/workload inventories and migration trackers.
Experience coordinating migration activities, downtime windows, testing, and stakeholder communication.
Experience documenting technical issues, dependencies, risks, and resolutions in a structured manner.
Experience with Jira or similar ticketing/project tracking tools and Microsoft Excel.
Exposure to Azure migration tools such as Azure Migrate would be an advantage.
Good understanding of infrastructure concepts such as servers/VMs, networking, storage, and applications is preferred.
Good verbal and written English communication skills.
German language skills are a plus but not mandatory.

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
