COWI India’s Marine Department is home to 53 skilled professionals (geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, coastal structure designers, coastal modellers and BIM specialists). As part of our team, you will collaborate across borders with experts from the UK, North America, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, working on advanced projects in India, Singapore, and Indonesia. We specialize in ports, harbours, coastal and marine structures, providing end-to-end consulting services to clients worldwide. Our skills in design of coastal and marine structures have led to innovative solutions for challenging marine environments.
In this position, you will join our global team of experts and work closely with Head of Department. Your primary task in our team will be to carry out design of multi-disciplinary marine, port and harbour projects and would work along with other Engineers and BIM/CAD staff to deliver design packages.
On a day-to-day basis you will:
- Perform engineering activities and deliverables for tender, basic and detailed design of coastal and marine structures.
- Coordinate team of engineers and designers for delivering projects as necessary.
- Perform and co-ordinate project engineering and design activities in collaboration with teams in India and in other COWI locations
- Support the proposal manager(s) in preparing technical proposals and time-inputs.

Furthermore, you'll have:
- Master’s in civil engineering/coastal Structures from reputed institute with 4-5 years of experience in Coastal and Marine structures
- Experience in design of coastal structures (breakwater, groynes, revetments, shore protection structure etc.)
- Have experience with proprietary and/or open source coastal engineering software such as: MIKE 21 by DHI; SMS suite; Delft3D, SWAN, XBEACH by Deltares
- Knowledge of Python and MATLAB scripting will be an added advantage.
- Experience in designing variety of marine structures like Jetties, Berths, Dolphins, bulk & container yards and associated onshore facilities.
- Eye for detailing and strong problem-solving capability and mindset.
- Practical experience on design and analysis software like STAAD Pro, Sofistik, ROBOT, FAGUS, etc. and experience in Parametric design for structures will be an added advantage.
- Have sufficient understanding of 3D BIM tools like Tekla Steel and Tekla RC, REVIT, CIVIL 3D, etc. for effective coordination.
- Knowledge of working with International and Indian codes and standards (IS, BS, EURO and API etc.)
- Have proficient communication skills with clear proficiency in written & spoken English to be able to interact with internal as well as external teams.
