CGI is looking for an experienced SAS Developer with hands-on expertise in Altair SLC to join our Data & Analytics practice. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SAS programming, SQL, and relational databases, with the ability to design, develop, and support scalable data processing and reporting solutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality, business-critical solutions. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills are essential for success in this role.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Design, develop, maintain, and enhance data processing, reporting, and analytics solutions using SAS and Altair SLC.
Develop and optimize Base SAS programs, SAS Macros, SAS SQL, Data Step programs, stored processes, and batch jobs.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
Perform data validation, reconciliation, and data quality analysis to ensure accuracy and integrity.
Collaborate with business users, data analysts, data engineers, and database administrators to integrate data from multiple enterprise sources.
Support production deployments, incident resolution, defect fixes, and performance tuning activities.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, code reviews, development standards, and best practices.
Coordinate effectively with onsite and offshore teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Must Have Skills:
5–8 years of hands-on experience in SAS Development.
Hands-on experience with Altair SLC (SAS Language Compiler).
Strong proficiency in:
Base SAS
SAS Macros
SAS SQL
Data Step Programming
Strong expertise in SQL development and relational database concepts.
Experience working with one or more of the following databases:
Oracle
Microsoft SQL Server
PostgreSQL
Snowflake
Teradata
Strong understanding of ETL processes, data integration, and data warehousing concepts.
Experience in data analysis, reporting, and application performance optimization.
Knowledge of source control, version management, and release management processes.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
Desired Qualifications
Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Experience with Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.
Knowledge of Python or Shell scripting for automation.
Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or Healthcare domains will be an added advantage.
