TEAM OVERVIEW
KKR’s Technology team is responsible for building and supporting the firm’s technological foundation including a globally distributed infrastructure, information security, and application and data platforms. The team drives a culture of technology excellence across the firm through efficient workflow automation, democratization of data through modern data and collaboration platforms, and more recently through research and development of Generative AI based tools and services.
Technology is regarded as a key business enabler at KKR and is an important accelerator to drive towards global scale creation and business process transformation. A dedicated Program Management function along with the Product Managers drive execution discipline across multiple technology teams with a goal to consistently deliver excellence serving our business needs. The Technology team consists of highly technical and business centric technologists with the ability to form strong partnerships across all of our businesses.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior FAST Engineer to lead the configuration, integration, and optimization of our FAST platform. This is a senior technical role for someone who can operate independently, set standards for configuration quality, mentor junior configuration analysts, and own the technical health of the FAST ecosystem end-to-end. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on FAST configuration expertise with strong integration and solution-design skills, and can translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable configurations.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
FAST Configuration & Administration
- Requirements Leadership: Partner with business stakeholders to gather, challenge, document, and implement complex configuration requirements; translate ambiguous business needs into technical solutions
- Document Indexing: Design and maintain document indexing structures for efficient data retrieval and organization at scale
- Task Management: Architect, configure, and route tasks and workflows to support business processes
- User Access Administration: Own user permissions, roles, and access controls in accordance with security and compliance policies
- Accounting Configuration: Configure and maintain accounting-related processes, with attention to reconciliation and downstream financial reporting
- Data Reporting & Extracts: Build and optimize SQL-based reports and extracts to support business intelligence and operational needs
- eDelivery Workflows: Design and configure electronic delivery workflows to streamline document distribution
- Business Rules & Automation: Use data aggregations, decision tables, and XSLT scripts to configure business rules and drive operational efficiency
Integration & Solution Design
- Integration Management: Design, build, and manage integrations within the FAST ecosystem — including APIs, web services, batch/file interfaces, and data exchange with upstream/downstream systems (policy admin, GL, payments, third-party vendors)
- Solution Architecture: Contribute to technical design decisions, integration patterns, and configuration standards across the platform
- Environment & Release Management: Support configuration migration, versioning, and promotion across environments (dev test prod), following deployment best practices
Technical Leadership
- Mentorship: Guide and review the work of junior FAST configuration analysts; establish and enforce configuration standards and best practices
- Troubleshooting & Root-Cause Analysis: Diagnose complex production issues spanning configuration, integrations, and data
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and design artifacts
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- 3–5 years of hands-on FAST configuration experience across the modules above
- Demonstrated experience managing integrations within the FAST ecosystem (APIs, web services, batch interfaces, data exchange with external systems)
- Track record of independently delivering configuration work in a production environment
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of software development principles and deployment/release best practices
- Advanced SQL for querying, reporting, and extract generation (performance tuning a plus)
- Proficiency with XSLT scripting and data transformation
- Experience with configuration management, environment promotion, and system administration
- Familiarity with workflow automation and business process optimization
