Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Costing Engineer to join our team in Vadodara. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and maintaining accurate cost estimates for products, projects, and services. This role involves close collaboration with various departments to ensure cost efficiency, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to the overall profitability of the company. The Costing Engineer will play a critical role in evaluating material, labor, and overhead costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing comprehensive cost reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed cost estimates for new product development, existing product modifications, and specific engineering projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.
Evaluate manufacturing processes, material requirements, labor hours, and overhead expenses to determine accurate production costs.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Procurement, Sales, and Finance teams to gather necessary data for cost analysis and ensure alignment on cost targets.
Develop and maintain robust cost models, databases, and standard costing procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency in costing processes.
Conduct thorough cost analysis, variance analysis, and profitability studies to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
Participate in 'make-or-buy' decisions by providing comprehensive cost comparisons and financial justifications.
Support the sales and bidding teams by providing timely and accurate cost data for quotations and proposals.
Monitor and report on project costs against budgets, highlighting any deviations and recommending corrective actions.
Implement value engineering principles to optimize product design and manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness without compromising quality.
Prepare detailed cost reports, presentations, and financial summaries for management review, offering insights and recommendations.
Ensure compliance with company costing policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Continuously research and stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and manufacturing technologies to enhance costing accuracy and methodologies.
