Job Summary
The Senior Product Specialist will be responsible for leading the SAP Basis S/4HANA Upgrade & Migration initiatives within the organization, ensuring seamless transition and optimal performance of SAP systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan, execute, and oversee the upgrade and migration of sap basis to s/4hana, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements, define project scope, and develop migration strategies.
3. Perform system assessments, conduct risk analysis, and implement best practices to enhance system performance.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to sap basis and s/4hana, ensuring system reliability.
5. Develop and maintain documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and system configurations.
6. Provide training and support to end-users and technical teams on sap basis functionality and best practices.
Skill Requirements
9–15 years of SAP Basis and SAP technical architecture experience with strong exposure to SAP cloud transformation, RISE with SAP, SAP Cloud ERP Private, hyperscaler migration, S/4HANA conversion, BW/BW4HANA conversion, HANA HA/DR architecture, BTP operating model, SaaS onboarding and SAP operations transformation. Core SAP Basis Skills Expert-level SAP Basis architecture and administration experience across large, complex and hybrid SAP landscapes. Deep experience across ECC, S/4HANA, BTP,BW, BW/4HANA, HANA, Fiori, Gateway, Web Dispatcher, PI/PO, Solution Manager, Cloud ALM and related SAP components. Strong expertise in SAP upgrades, system migration, system copy, refresh, kernel/support package lifecycle, add-on compatibility, transport strategy and operations governance. Expert understanding of HANA architecture, backup/recovery, HANA System Replication, HA/DR, scale-up/scale-out, performance tuning and lifecycle management. Ability to define monitoring, alerting, incident response, change governance, ITSM integration, operational dashboards and service transition models. Strong stakeholder management, solution assurance, risk management, escalation leadership and technical governance skills. Additional Skills – Upgrade, Migration, S/4HANA, SaaS and BTP Define end-to-end SAP cloud migration and transformation strategy across RISE with SAP, SAP Cloud ERP Private, SAP-managed cloud, hyperscaler-hosted SAP and private cloud models. Lead SAP technical discovery and assessment including landscape inventory, sizing, custom code impact, add-on compatibility, cloud readiness, migration risk and downtime feasibility. Architect migration approaches such as lift-and-shift, re-platforming, OS/DB migration, DMO, system move, backup/restore, export/import, phased migration and near-zero downtime migration. Define S/4HANA conversion strategy for Brownfield, Greenfield support, Selective Data Transition support and hybrid transformation scenarios. Define BW/BW4HANA conversion and migration architecture including BW on HANA, BW/4HANA, HANA sizing, data volume management, housekeeping and performance readiness. Design HANA HA/DR architecture including RPO/RTO, backup strategy, HANA System Replication, clustering, failover, failback, DR runbook and DR drill planning. Define BTP operating model including global account/subaccount design, entitlement strategy, connectivity, Cloud Connector placement, destinations, identity integration, role governance, audit model and monitoring. Define SAP SaaS technical onboarding and support model for SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, Fieldglass, SAC, Datasphere, IBP, Integration Suite and other SAP cloud services. Define SAP Cloud ALM, Solution Manager, Focused Run, hyperscaler monitoring and ITSM integration strategy for SAP operations. Cloud Fundamentals knowledge Architect / Lead Type Exposure Own SAP technical solution architecture for large migration, conversion and transformation programs. Lead architecture workshops, senior stakeholder discussions, solution defense, risk reviews and technical governance meetings. Guide multiple technical leads and engineering teams through design, build, mock migration, cutover, go-live, hypercare and transition to operations. Create reusable migration assets, templates, runbooks, reference architectures, automation patterns and delivery playbooks. Support pre-sales, proposal response, commercial estimation, transformation roadmap and executive-level solution presentations. Good to Have RISE with SAP / SAP Cloud ERP Private architecture and transition experience. SAP ECS / SAP Private Cloud operating model understanding. Multi-wave SAP migration factory design experience. Near-zero downtime, downtime-optimized conversion or ZDO experience. Clean core operations, BTP extension governance and SaaS integration governance. SAP Integration
