We are looking for a Junior CAD / Product Designer to join our product development team and work closely with our Senior CAD Designer.
You will help turn product concepts into 3D-printable, functional, and production-ready designs. The role involves fast CAD iterations, creating product variants, developing personalization options, and preparing files for production.
This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys 3D design, product development, problem-solving, and making physical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify 3D CAD models based on sketches, reference images, measurements, and design instructions.
- Support the Senior CAD Designer with rapid design iterations and improvements.
- Create different product sizes, shapes, configurations, and variants.
- Develop CAD designs that allow for customer personalization and customization.
- Prepare and modify designs for 3D printing.
- Optimize designs for printability, including reducing unnecessary material, supports, and print time.
- Check dimensions, tolerances, fit, clearances, and basic functionality.
- Make design changes based on 3D-printing results and testing feedback.
- Prepare STL, STEP, and other required manufacturing/production files.
- Maintain organized CAD files, versions, and product components.
- Work closely with the Senior Designer to take products through multiple design iterations.
- Help identify and solve basic design and manufacturing problems.
What We're Looking For
- 0–3 years of experience in CAD, product design, mechanical design, or a related field.
- Strong interest in product design and 3D modelling.
- Hands-on experience with at least one CAD/3D modelling tool such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Rhino, Onshape, or similar.
- Basic understanding of 3D printing and design for additive manufacturing.
- Good understanding of dimensions, measurements, basic tolerances, and fit.
- Ability to work from sketches, images, measurements, and instructions.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to make design changes quickly and accurately.
- Comfortable receiving feedback and making multiple iterations.
- Good organizational skills for managing CAD files and product versions.
Good to Have
- Experience with FDM or resin 3D printing.
- Experience designing consumer products, accessories, organizers, tools, or functional products.
- Experience creating modular or interchangeable product components.
- Experience with personalization/customization systems.
- Basic understanding of injection-moulding-friendly product design.
- Experience with 3D printers, slicers, or hands-on prototyping.
- A portfolio of CAD, product-design, 3D-printing, or personal projects.
