Full job description

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial and accounting activities of the gas agency. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, handling billing and payments, bank reconciliation, GST compliance, and preparing financial reports.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain daily accounting records and entries.
Handle sales, purchase, receipts, payments, and expense entries.
Prepare and maintain cash book and bank book.
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliation.
Manage customer and vendor accounts.
Prepare invoices, bills, vouchers, and payment records.
Handle LPG/gas cylinder sales and related financial transactions.
Maintain stock-related financial records and reconcile accounts.
Prepare and file GST returns and other applicable tax-related documents.
Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and reports.
Monitor outstanding payments and follow up with customers or vendors.
Handle petty cash and daily cash reconciliation.
Maintain proper records of employee salaries, advances, and other payments.
Coordinate with auditors, banks, suppliers, and government authorities when required.
Ensure all financial records are accurate, confidential, and properly maintained.
Support the management with financial reports and business-related data.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Knowledge of Tally, MS Excel, and accounting software.
Good understanding of GST, taxation, and basic accounting principles.
Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation and financial reporting.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work accurately and manage multiple tasks.
Previous experience in a gas agency, FMCG, retail, or distribution business will be preferred.

1–5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
