Position: Senior Manager / Manager – Business Development

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: GTC Energy, HO, Ahmedabad

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Business Development professional with 10+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Chemical, Process Plant, and Gas Compressor sectors.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, generating enquiries, managing the sales pipeline, and driving business growth from lead generation through order conversion.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve company revenue and growth targets.
Identify and develop new business opportunities in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Chemical, Process Plant, and Gas Compressor projects.
Develop strong relationships with EPC contractors, project consultants, end users, government organizations, PSUs, and private-sector clients.
Identify upcoming projects, tenders, capex opportunities, and potential customers in target markets.
Generate enquiries and develop a healthy sales pipeline through market intelligence, networking, client visits, and industry contacts.
Understand customer requirements, project specifications, technical scope, commercial requirements, and procurement processes.
Coordinate with Engineering, Estimation, Tendering, Projects, Procurement, and Management teams to develop competitive proposals.
Lead commercial negotiations and support the team in converting enquiries into purchase orders/contracts.
Monitor competitor activities, market trends, pricing, and business opportunities.
Prepare business development plans, sales forecasts, opportunity reports, and management presentations.
Attend client meetings, pre-bid meetings, technical discussions, exhibitions, conferences, and industry events.
Maintain regular follow-up with prospective and existing customers and ensure strong customer engagement.
Develop strategic partnerships, channel relationships, and business alliances where required.
Ensure timely submission and follow-up of offers, clarifications, negotiations, and order finalization.
Achieve assigned sales, revenue, and order booking targets.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
MBA in Marketing / Business Development will be an added advantage.
10+ years of relevant experience in Business Development / Sales / Marketing in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Chemical, Process Plant, or Gas Compressor industries.
Strong understanding of EPC projects, industrial equipment, process packages, plant engineering, and project procurement.
Proven track record of generating business and converting enquiries into orders.
Strong network and relationships with EPC companies, consultants, end users, and industrial clients will be highly preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, networking, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to understand technical requirements and coordinate effectively with engineering and commercial teams.
Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings and business development activities.
