Chef – Street Food Specialist

Location: Gurugram, Haryana
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience: 2–5 years

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and energetic Chef who specializes in Indian street food and can prepare authentic, flavorful, and consistent dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience preparing popular street-food items, understand Indian flavors and cooking techniques, and be able to maintain quality, hygiene, and consistency during high-volume operations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of Indian street-food dishes with authentic taste and presentation.
Handle items such as chaat, rolls, kebabs, momos, sandwiches, tikki, chole bhature, pav bhaji, fried snacks, Indo-Chinese, and other street-food preparations.
Develop and standardize recipes, sauces, chutneys, marinades, and spice mixes.
Ensure consistent taste, portion size, presentation, and food quality.
Manage food preparation and cooking during busy service hours.
Maintain proper food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness, and safety standards.
Monitor ingredient quality, freshness, and storage.
Minimize food wastage and maintain proper portion control.
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely order execution.
Assist in menu development and introduce new street-food concepts when required.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and workstations.
Follow inventory and food-cost control procedures.

Requirements

2–5 years of experience as a Chef/Cook, preferably in Indian street food, QSR, café, food truck, or casual dining.
Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, sauces, chutneys, and cooking techniques.
Ability to prepare food quickly while maintaining consistency and quality.
Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
Ability to work under pressure during peak hours.
Team player with a positive and disciplined approach.
Creativity and willingness to experiment with new street-food dishes.
Candidates who can independently manage a street-food kitchen will be preferred.

Preferred Skills

Expertise in North Indian / Delhi-style street food.
Experience with high-volume food production.
Recipe standardization and portion control.
Basic inventory and food-cost management.
Ability to train and supervise junior kitchen staff.
