POSITION OVERVIEW
Sesola Power Projects Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Manager to execute and lead transmission line and substation projects across Karnataka on an immediate basis. The incumbent will be the single point of accountability for end-to-end project delivery — from mobilization, survey and design coordination through construction, testing and commissioning — while directly managing the performance of the vendor, supplier and contractor network engaged on the project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead execution of EHV transmission line and substation projects (e.g., 110/11kV and other applicable voltage classes) in Karnataka, including LILO lines, augmentation works and turnkey substation packages, from award through successful commissioning.
· Plan and monitor check survey, revenue survey, tower spotting/route alignment, and drone and GIS-based survey activities in coordination with the client (e.g., KPTCL) and internal engineering teams, ensuring survey data is submitted in the required format ahead of billing milestones.
· Drive execution of tower foundation works (excavation, stub setting and concreting, back-filling and curing), tower erection, stringing of conductor, earth wire/OPGW, insulator strings and line hardware, and associated civil and structural works as per approved drawings and technical specifications.
· Oversee substation execution scope including control room buildings, GIS/AIS halls, earth mat, cable ducts/trenches, station structures, equipment erection and balance-of-plant civil works.
· Manage and coordinate the network of vendors, suppliers and contractors — tower and structure fabricators, conductor and hardware suppliers, civil sub-contractors, erection gangs and testing agencies — ensuring adherence to schedule, quality, safety and contractual commitments.
· Track progress against the approved methodology and program of construction, identify schedule risks and slippages, and implement recovery plans to meet contractual completion timelines.
· Coordinate factory and site testing, pre-commissioning checks, commissioning, and performance and guarantee tests, ensuring successful handover and commercial operation of the completed works.
· Ensure compliance with client technical specifications, statutory and Right-of-Way approvals, and applicable quality and safety standards throughout project execution.
· Liaise with client representatives (Engineer-in-Charge), statutory authorities and internal stakeholders — engineering, procurement, QA/QC, HSE and finance — to resolve site issues and enable timely measurement, billing and certification.
· Maintain project documentation including progress reports, survey and GIS mapping submissions, measurement records and completion certificates required for client and internal reporting.
· Manage project budgets, cost control and material reconciliation across all vendors and contractors deployed on site.
· Enforce HSE compliance across all site activities and ensure contractor adherence to safety protocols at all times.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
· 8–15 years of experience in execution of transmission line and/or substation projects, with a proven track record of independently leading project delivery from mobilization to commissioning.
· Demonstrated experience executing works on a total/partial turnkey basis, covering supply, erection, testing and commissioning of transmission and substation equipment.
· Hands-on experience managing vendor, supplier and contractor networks, including performance monitoring, issue resolution and contractual compliance.
· Prior experience delivering projects for state transmission utilities (such as KPTCL) or comparable EHV transmission/distribution clients is highly preferred.
· Working knowledge of survey processes (check survey, revenue survey, tower spotting, GIS/drone survey), tower erection methodology, and substation civil and electrical works.
· Experience managing multi-location or multi-crew execution teams across remote project sites.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (B.E./B.Tech). PMP or an equivalent project management certification is an added advantage.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· Willingness to travel extensively to project sites across Karnataka and to be based at project locations as required.
· Immediate availability is strongly preferred given the urgency of this requirement.
