What you’ll do
As the Senior Product Owner supporting Platform Modernization and adjacent engineering teams, you will play a mission‑critical role defining product vision, sequencing modernization work, and ensuring engineering teams deliver high‑value, high‑quality increments aligned to enterprise modernization strategy. You will partner directly with Senior Engineers, Staff Engineers, Scrum Masters, DevOps, Data Migration, Observability, Integration, and QA teams to drive clarity, alignment, and predictable delivery across deeply technical modernization initiatives.

Define product vision, roadmap, and value‑driven prioritization for modernization capabilities and engineering platforms.

Partner with engineering leads across Modernization, Decommissioning Data Migration, Integration, DevOps, and QA to translate complex technical work into clear, deliverable increments.

Own and refine backlogs across multiple squads, ensuring clarity of acceptance criteria, dependency visibility, and sequencing.

Responsible for defining Team Product Backlog of User Stories including backlog prioritization, refinement, and creation of acceptance criteria along with agreed upon definition of done. Has autonomy to make decisions around the team backlog

Partner with the Product Manager to understand priorities and PI features and supports driving the Product Increment (PI) objective at the Team Level

Drives Iteration Goals and content via prioritized user stories and ensures the technical integrity

Product/Domain knowledge that guides, informs, and provides insight on what product enhancements, maintenance and efficiencies/remediation are needed

Product decision maker including Functional and NFRs; accepts User Stories and Iteration Increments

Conducts impact analysis for optimal product delivery, industry trends etc.

Contributor to the Vision, Roadmap and ROI; ensures the team’s backlog aligns to the roadmap

Acts as the Customer for Teams including being the liaison between the business and team

Ensures team risks and dependencies are identified and managed. Collaborates with the System Architect to prioritize Enablers

Stakeholder management; Accountable for identifying and manage risks, scope trade-offs, and timeline impacts

Collaborator of dependencies with the team, Product Mgr and other teams for optimal delivery outcomes. Use of metrics to assess team progress and areas for improvement

Leverage various Agile processes such as Story and Value Stream Mapping and Estimating using Fibonacci scale. Facilitate cross‑team alignment for API modernization, release safety, and platform‑level dependencies.

Drive outcome‑based delivery using measurable KPIs such as reliability improvements, defect escape reductions, SLO attainment, and modernization throughput.

Collaborate with business partners, architecture, and engineering leadership to ensure prioritization aligns with enterprise objectives.

Lead readiness for releases—ensuring functional validation, contract‑testing alignment, observability onboarding, and change‑management preparedness.

Communicate product plans, risks, and progress through crisp, executive‑ready communication.

Champion customer‑centricity, engineering empathy, and delivery excellence across all modernization squads.
Minimum Qualifications
-
9+ years product ownership or product management experience supporting engineering‑heavy teams.
-
Experience shaping roadmaps for modernization, cloud migration, or distributed‑systems engineering programs.
-
Strong ability to translate technical concepts (Migrations, Modernization, Decommissioning, CI/CD, APIs, observability) into clear product requirements.
-
Demonstrated success driving predictable delivery across multi‑team agile organizations.
-
Exceptional communication and stakeholder‑management skills across technical and business audiences.
-
Strong experience in Jira Align and Jira Cloud Or Confluence

Preferred Qualifications

Hands‑on experience with data‑driven prioritization, KPI frameworks, and value‑based roadmap planning.

Certification in Product Ownership or Product Management (CSPO, PSPO, APM, POPM etc.).
