About IB Insight
IB Insight is an IB-focused coaching and tutoring institute supporting students across India. We work with IB learners on everything from day-to-day coursework to Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, and exam preparation, pairing them with subject specialists who understand the IB framework deeply. As we grow, we're building a roster of freelance educators who bring both subject mastery and genuine care for how students learn.
About the Role
As a Freelance English Teacher, you'll deliver 1:1 or small-group tutoring sessions to MYP and/or DP students, helping them strengthen their writing, analysis, and exam technique against IB's specific assessment criteria. Success in this role looks like students who leave every session more confident — plus clean, reliable session reporting and invoicing that keeps things running smoothly on our end.
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned English A/B tutoring sessions for MYP and/or DP students, 1:1 or in small groups, online
- Plan and adapt lessons to each student's grade level, target grade, and IB assessment criteria
- Support students with coursework such as the Individual Oral, Written Tasks, Paper 1/2 exam technique, and Extended Essay guidance where applicable
- Submit a brief progress/session report after each class, following IB Insight's reporting format
- Maintain professionalism and follow IB Insight's code of conduct in all interactions with students, parents, and staff
- Submit accurate, timely invoices for completed sessions per IB Insight's billing cycle
- Flag scheduling conflicts, student concerns, or curriculum questions to the IB Insight team proactively
What We're Looking For — Required
- Demonstrated experience teaching or tutoring IB MYP and/or DP English
- Solid working knowledge of IB assessment criteria and the English curriculum framework
- Reliable internet access and comfort teaching over video conferencing (Zoom or similar)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to commit to consistent, if flexible, weekly availability
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- B.Ed, M.Ed, or equivalent teaching credential
- Experience teaching at an authorized IB World School, or IB educator training/workshops
- Experience coaching students through the Extended Essay or Internal Assessment
- Familiarity with Google Classrooms/Google Meet
Compensation & Schedule
- Competitive, above-market freelance rates per session — 1000-1500/hr
- Fully remote, flexible hours — set your own availability within agreed student time zones
