Job Title: Sales & Billing Staff

Department: Retail Operations
Location: Supermarket Store

Job Summary

The Sales & Billing Staff is responsible for assisting customers in purchasing products, maintaining proper product display, and handling billing transactions accurately. The role ensures excellent customer service and smooth store operations.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Responsibilities

Assist customers in locating products and provide product information.
Ensure shelves are properly stocked, arranged, and labelled.
Check product expiry dates and remove expired or damaged items.
Maintain cleanliness and proper display of products in assigned sections.
Promote offers, discounts, and new products to customers.
Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor when stock is low.

Billing Responsibilities

Operate billing/POS system accurately and efficiently.
Scan products and generate customer bills correctly.
Handle cash, UPI, card, and other payment methods.
Ensure proper billing and issue receipts to customers.
Maintain cash counter discipline and accuracy in cash handling.
Prepare daily billing and cash reports if required.

Customer Service

Greet customers politely and assist them during their shopping.
Handle customer queries and complaints professionally.
Thank customers and ensure a pleasant shopping experience.

General Responsibilities

Maintain personal grooming and wear proper uniform.
Follow store rules, policies, and reporting procedures.
Be punctual and maintain discipline at work.
Assist in store inventory checks and stock management when required.

Qualifications

Minimum: Plus Two / Higher Secondary
Basic knowledge of billing systems or computer operation preferred
Prior experience in retail/supermarket is an advantage

Good communication and customer handling skills
Basic computer knowledge
Attention to detail in billing and cash handling
