Job Description:

Job Purpose (max 1325 Characters)

(What is the main reason the job exists - what is the primary output or result? Example: “Plan, organise and control selling operations in order to achieve targeted sales turnover with reduced and controlled overhead costs.”)

Support the President in decision making processes related to a wide range of initiatives proposed by the business stakeholders, from commercial agreements, to operational or capital expenses, strategic investments, capacity optimization and Sales/ supply agreements.

To be the "business partner" to the Regional President & the regional leadership team to provide with the information and analysis needed to make the best possible business decisions. Ground ideas and strategies to measurable KPIs and promote a financial mindset around how decisions are made and performance is assessed.

Provide all necessary support in the management and optimization of receivables including the credit assessment process, pricing and payment terms, discounts, collections and management of overdue accounts receivable, and so forth.

Main tasks:

Be a Strategic Finance partner for President Specialties & Business leadership team.
Plan and execute value added short, medium and long term financial forecasting for specialties working with global/regional finance and controllership team.
Driving regional budget, financial forecasts, to align region objective with global business plan
Assess the financial viability of key commercial, operational and capital projects, at various stages of development, to help prioritize the projects for resource allocation
Support the Sales Directors, their commercial team and central supply chain planning in optimizing plant loading and in make-or-buy decisions.
Advise regional management on financial performance, cost improvement opportunities, cash-flow and Dashboard/KPI reviews
Analyzing financial results to identify trends, variances, and operational efficiencies working with Site Controllers and Central FP&A as needed.
Own the effective management of the Contract to cash cycle compliance for the P&L.

Requirements:

MBA and / or Chartered Accountant
12-15+ years experience in senior finance roles, preferably at a Regional level
Prior experience in leading FP&A teams and/or commercial finance partner roles ,
Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, result oriented
Highly communicative, dynamic, and flexible.
Fluent in English
Willing to travel

The position reports directly to the President Specialties and dotted to CFO- Birla Carbon.

Operational, commercial or investment projects are diverse by nature. The jobholder has to demonstrate a deep understanding of the business value drivers and their interactions, creating a big picture of the outcomes of a decision. Although complex and granular, this understanding and the resulting opinions must be clear and simple, based on common sense and focusing on the key priorities for the company.

It requires a good understanding of the business and an ability to ask the right questions to the right people, i.e. to create an effective and cross-functional network.

The analyses performed can be related to many different aspects of the organization, in any geography, function or production process

The role holder will lead the regional budgeting, financial forecasts, to align region objective with global business plan. For this responsibility, the role holder will need to leverage the Global & plant controllership organization as well as the global FPA team.

Act as a brainstorming partner to form the most objective opinion possible on business cases

Support the functional/ Site leaders - Commercial /Site GM’s and related functional teams as needed

Work with the business partners to assess the financial viability of key projects, at various stages of development, to help prioritize the projects for resource allocation

Be the "business partner" to the General Managers, Sales Head and provide them with the information and analysis needed to make the best possible business decisions.

Work closely with Sales & Marketing organizations to implement and maintain finance processes and define KPIs.
Provide all necessary financial support in the preparation and completion of customer contracts.
Support the Sales Directors, their commercial team and central supply chain planning in optimizing plant loading and in make-or-buy decisions.
Plan and execute value added multi-year financial forecasting for the region.
Drive improved Product Portfolio Management with AMM

Own the effective management of the Contract to cash cycle compliance for the P&L

Provide all necessary support in the management and optimization of receivables including the pricing and payment terms, discounts, collections and management of overdue accounts receivable, support the credit assessment process, and so forth.

Ensure a climate of balancing business partnerships while constructively challenging business decisions.

Review all commercial agreements and Sandboxes and provide financial pictures for management approval
Provide all necessary support in the analysis, management and optimization of inventory levels, such as, number of SKUs, order size, shipment terms, warehouse locations, consignment locations.
