Job Summary
Architect role for a hybrid work model in a global organization focusing on end to end data engineering and analytics solutions using Python and AWS Glue stack for a Property and Casualty insurance portfolio. The architect will design secure scalable and cost efficient data platforms on Amazon S3 that power underwriting claims and pricing insights while collaborating with cross functional business and technology teams.
Responsibilities
Design and architect robust data ingestion and transformation workflows using AWS Glue AWS Glue Studio and AWS Glue ETL to support end to end Property and Casualty insurance analytics use cases
Develop and maintain reusable Python frameworks for data processing quality checks and error handling to ensure reliable and traceable insurance data pipelines
Implement optimized data models and partition strategies on Amazon S3 to support fast retrieval for actuarial analysis underwriting decisions and portfolio management reporting
Define and enforce coding standards data naming conventions and metadata practices to maintain consistency across insurance products policy data claims data and external data sources
Collaborate with underwriters claims specialists and business analysts to translate insurance domain requirements into technical data solutions that are scalable secure and easily maintainable
Coordinate with cloud infrastructure teams to define security controls encryption approaches and access patterns that protect sensitive insurance customer information
Evaluate performance of existing ETL jobs optimize Glue job configurations and refine Python code to reduce processing time and cost while maintaining high reliability
Create detailed solution design documents data flow diagrams and data dictionaries that clearly describe the architecture for both technical and non technical stakeholders
Guide development teams on best practices for using AWS Glue Amazon S3 and related AWS services to build resilient and observable data pipelines for insurance datasets
Implement monitoring logging and alerting for critical ETL workloads so that data quality incidents and operational issues are detected and resolved quickly
Coordinate integration of third party data sources such as risk scores weather data and geospatial data to enrich Property and Casualty insurance analytics solutions
Support testing cycles by defining test data sets validating end to end data flows and confirming that outputs align with expected insurance business metrics
Drive continuous improvement by analyzing usage patterns gathering feedback from stakeholders and enhancing data products that deliver measurable impact on loss ratios and customer experience
Qualifications
Possess extensive hands on experience in architecting and developing Python based data solutions with a focus on performance modularity and clear error handling
Demonstrate deep practical expertise with AWS Glue AWS Glue Studio and AWS Glue ETL including job orchestration catalog management and schema evolution
Show advanced knowledge of Amazon S3 including data organization strategies lifecycle policies and integration with analytics and machine learning services
Bring strong Property and Casualty insurance domain understanding covering policy lifecycle claims processing rating underwriting and regulatory reporting needs
Apply knowledge of data warehousing and lakehouse patterns to design scalable data platforms that support reporting self service analytics and downstream applications
Exhibit proficiency in working within hybrid work models using digital collaboration tools to interact effectively with distributed business and technology teams
Display solid experience in requirements analysis solution design documentation and presentation of architecture decisions to both technical and non technical stakeholders
Demonstrate familiarity with data quality frameworks data governance concepts and methods to implement controls that improve trust in key insurance data assets
Certifications Required
Good to have AWS Certified Data Analytics AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification in Property and Casualty insurance data or analytics is preferred
