The Drafting team prepares and maintains detailed design drawings, schematics or specifications typically using computer-aided design software. Creates, modifies and controls detailed two- and three-dimensional parts and assembly drawings from engineers' and technicians' sketches, plans and written and verbal instructions.
The position is responsible to develop / review CAD models/ Assemblies/ drawings for mechanical/ electrical components and subsystems. Utilizes corporate CAD design system to produce relatively Complex models, assemblies and detail drawings, layouts that are dimensionally accurate. Manages assigned tasks within scheduled time constraints. Establishes component tolerances in accordance with manufacturing capabilities.
Education: B.Tech-Mech/ BE Mech
Experience: 3 to 6 Years
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Effective use plastic & sheet metal part design guide to Create / modify design concepts
Evaluate developed concepts using Design for Manufacturing & Assembly techniques (DFMA)
Determine effect of change on other components / assemblies by geometric studies within subsystem
Performed complex tolerance analysis and validation using CAD tools as required by project teams
Create / Update parts in master assembly based on project requirements
Application of GD&T as per required standard (ASME Y14.5 / ISO 1101)
Comply with ASME Y14.5 / ISO CAD drafting standards for engineering drawings
Comply with CAD data management policies and design change process using Windchill
Understand & review requirements to produce complete CAD models of components / subsystems in product
Identify and resolve potential problems in CAD design and coordinate changes
Plan and organize multiple tasks, normally within the context of a complex project, resulting in successful delivery on time and with Quality
Key Deliverables
Create / update complex CAD models, drawings, assemblies using robust CAD modeling in Creo parametric
Comply with CAD standards, data management policies and design change process
Quality Review of CAD drawings & Models
Ensure expected delivery on Time and at Quality
Must be capable to develop / Manage Complex Master Assemblies
TECHNICAL
Experience of plastics / sheet metal part design
Design for manufacturing / assembly (DFM/A)
Experience of Top Down Design methodology
Knowledge of GD&T
Master in PTC Creo Parametric
Proficiency in ISO / ASME Y14.5M standards
Knowledge of Windchill (prefered)
MANAGERIAL
Strong communication skills (oral and written)

Mentor team members on CAD quality
Proficient computer skills
