Job Summary
We are seeking a Clinical Data Partnerships & Acquisition Lead to build and manage the data partnerships that power our AI-enabled medical-imaging products.
You will identify high-value clinical data needs, develop relationships with hospitals and research organisations, and lead partnerships from initial engagement through contracting, data transfer, and ongoing delivery. You will work at the intersection of clinical strategy, business development, data science, privacy, legal, and operations.
The ideal candidate understands that successful clinical data acquisition is not simply about volume. It requires representative patient populations, appropriate clinical context, reliable metadata, high-quality imaging, clear usage rights, and responsible data governance.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and own the clinical data partnership and acquisition strategy for our AI and medical-imaging portfolio.
- Translate product, model-development, and validation priorities into clear dataset requirements, including imaging modalities, clinical conditions, patient populations, metadata, and annotation needs.
- Identify and engage hospitals, imaging centres, research networks, academic institutions, registries, and other suitable data partners.
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with clinical, research, operational, legal, privacy, and executive stakeholders.
- Lead partnership discussions and support the negotiation of data-use agreements, research agreements, licensing terms, and commercial arrangements.
- Coordinate internal and external teams through ethics approvals, governance reviews, contracting, de-identification, secure transfer, and data acceptance.
- Assess prospective datasets for relevance, quality, representativeness, provenance, diversity, completeness, and permitted uses.
- Establish transparent processes for tracking partnership pipelines, acquisition costs, timelines, risks, rights, restrictions, and delivered datasets.
- Partner with clinical, AI, product, regulatory, privacy, security, and legal teams to ensure acquired data is suitable for its intended purpose.
- Monitor partnership performance, resolve delivery issues, and expand successful collaborations into sustainable strategic relationships.
Required qualifications
- Significant experience in clinical data partnerships, healthcare business development, research collaborations, clinical operations, or data acquisition.
- Experience working with hospitals, health systems, academic medical centres, imaging networks, or clinical research organisations.
- Strong understanding of clinical data, medical imaging, healthcare workflows, or AI product development.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex partnerships involving multiple clinical, technical, legal, and operational stakeholders.
- Experience supporting contracts such as data-use, research, licensing, or collaboration agreements.
- Working knowledge of patient privacy, informed consent, ethics review, de-identification, data governance, and secure data transfer.
- Strong commercial judgement, negotiation skills, and the ability to balance partnership value with ethical and operational considerations.
- Excellent relationship-management, communication, project-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience acquiring imaging datasets in areas such as radiology, pathology, ophthalmology, cardiology, or another image-intensive specialty.
- Familiarity with DICOM, PACS, radiology information systems, imaging metadata, annotations, and clinical labels.
- Understanding of dataset bias, patient representativeness, data provenance, and model generalisability.
- Experience supporting AI-enabled medical devices, software as a medical device, digital health products, or diagnostic technologies.
- Familiarity with international healthcare privacy and research frameworks.
- Experience establishing partnerships across multiple countries or healthcare systems.
- Existing relationships within hospitals, imaging networks, academic institutions, or clinical research communities.
- Experience developing repeatable partnership processes and managing a pipeline of concurrent opportunities.
