Job Overview
The Assistant Tax Manager, based in India, supports the planning, preparation, review, and filing of tax-related work to help the organization meet its compliance obligations while optimizing tax positions for its US operations. This role works closely with the US Corporate Controller, finance and accounting teams, external advisors, and relevant regulatory bodies to manage tax reporting, analyze tax issues, and maintain accurate tax records. The Tax Manager balances hands-on technical work with coordination and review, contributing to both day-to-day compliance and longer-term tax strategy.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Preparation
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local US tax returns
- Assist with indirect tax, payroll tax, and information reporting requirements
- Maintain organized and auditable tax workpapers
Tax Accounting and Reporting
- Assist with tax provision calculations and book-to-tax reconciliations
- Support financial statement disclosures related to income taxes
Tax Planning and Analysis
- Research US tax laws and regulations and summarize impacts
- Assist in evaluating tax planning strategies and transactions
Coordination and Communication
- Liaise with accounting, finance, and operations teams for tax data
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors
Process Improvement and Support
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and documentation
- Support the Controller on special projects and initiatives
- Documented tax compliance calendar with filing deadlines
- Standardized tax return and workpaper templates
- Written procedures for tax provision and reconciliations
- Access to tax research resources and internal tax guidance
- Training on internal accounting systems and tax software
- Quality review checklists and compliance standards
Education and Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Progress toward or completion of CPA US or Enrolled Agent or equivalent certification preferred
- Ongoing professional tax training or continuing education
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of US income tax compliance and basic tax accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
- Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheets
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across time zones and handle confidential information

Timing- 1PM-10PM/ 2PM-11PM
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,300,000.00 per year
