Position Title: Vice Chancellor
Reporting To: Board of Governors / Chancellor
Location – Ghatkopar
Position Overview
The Vice Chancellor (VC) is the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the University and shall provide visionary leadership in achieving excellence in skill-based higher education, research, innovation, industry collaboration, entrepreneurship, and institutional governance. The VC will be responsible for driving academic quality, ensuring statutory compliance, enhancing employability, promoting technology-enabled learning, and positioning the University as a nationally and globally recognized Skill Technology University.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the University's strategic vision, mission, and long-term growth plan.
- Lead institutional transformation aligned with National Education Policy (NEP 2020), National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF), and emerging industry requirements.
- Promote innovation, research, entrepreneurship, and technology integration across all academic disciplines.
- Build a culture of excellence, accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
2. Academic Leadership
- Ensure high academic standards across all Departments, and Centres.
- Introduce industry-relevant undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and doctoral programmes.
- Promote interdisciplinary learning and outcome-based education.
- Encourage research publications, patents, funded projects, and consultancy.
- Strengthen digital learning, blended education, and experiential learning.
3. Skill Development & Industry Collaboration
- Establish strong partnerships with industries, corporate organizations, Sector Skill Councils, and government agencies.
- Promote apprenticeship, internships, live industry projects, and placement opportunities.
- Facilitate Centres of Excellence in emerging technologies such as:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Robotics
- Data Science
- Cyber Security
- Electric Vehicles
- Renewable Energy
- Healthcare Technologies
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Develop industry-driven curriculum aligned with workforce needs.
4. Research & Innovation
- Foster a strong research ecosystem.
- Promote incubation centres, innovation hubs, and startup culture.
- Encourage faculty and student participation in national and international research initiatives.
- Generate external research funding through grants and collaborations.
5. Governance & Administration
- Ensure effective governance in accordance with UGC, AICTE, State Government, and other regulatory authorities.
- Chair statutory committees including Academic Council, Executive Council, and Finance Committee.
- Develop institutional policies and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure transparent administration and ethical decision-making.
6. Faculty Development
- Recruit and retain highly qualified faculty members.
- Encourage professional development, certifications, and international exposure.
- Implement faculty performance management and mentoring systems.
- Promote academic leadership and succession planning.
7. Student Success
- Create a student-centric learning environment.
- Strengthen career services, placements, entrepreneurship support, and skill certifications.
- Promote holistic development through sports, cultural activities, community engagement, and leadership programmes.
- Ensure effective grievance redressal and student welfare mechanisms.
8. Financial Management
- Prepare and monitor institutional budgets.
- Identify new revenue streams including grants, CSR partnerships, executive education, consultancy, and international collaborations.
- Ensure financial sustainability and efficient resource utilization.
9. Internationalization
- Develop collaborations with leading international universities.
- Promote faculty and student exchange programmes.
- Encourage joint research, dual degrees, and global certifications.
- Enhance the University's international rankings and reputation.
10. Quality Assurance
- Lead accreditation initiatives including:
- NAAC
- NBA
- NIRF
- QS Rankings
- International Accreditation
- Implement continuous quality improvement systems.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Educational Qualifications
Essential
- Ph.D. in Engineering, Technology, Science, Management, Education, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
Desirable
- Distinguished academic record with consistently strong performance.
- International academic exposure.
- Leadership training in higher education administration.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years' experience as a Professor in a recognized University.
- Minimum 6 - 7 years of administrative leadership as Dean, Director, Pro Vice Chancellor, Registrar, or equivalent.
- Significant experience in university administration and policy implementation.
- Proven track record in research, innovation, academic governance, and institutional development.
- Experience working with government agencies, accreditation bodies, and regulatory authorities.
Pay: ₹120,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
