Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance proprietary and commercial software applications. The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development experience, cloud expertise, and a solid understanding of software architecture, SDLC, and modern development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain web applications and software systems.
- Develop scalable and secure solutions using modern software engineering practices.
- Work closely with internal teams, stakeholders, vendors, and business partners to deliver technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain application frameworks and architectural standards.
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Work with Git/Subversion, continuous integration, and deployment processes.
- Identify and implement application updates, security patches, and vulnerability fixes.
- Maintain technical documentation covering applications, architectures, builds, and processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and system issues.
- Support project management and organizational technology initiatives.
- Follow established IT policies, procedures, security standards, and development best practices.
Required Technical Skills
- 5+ years of full-stack software development experience.
- Strong experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern UI/UX development.
- Expert-level knowledge of at least one JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- 2+ years of Python development experience, including algorithms and data structures.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, algorithms, and data structures.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, including PostgreSQL and/or T-SQL.
- Experience with ODBC integrations and database development.
- Experience with JSP, JDBC, XML, JSON, and JasperReports.
- Experience with Bootstrap or similar UI frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Git or Subversion.
- Experience working with Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments, with at least 2–3 years of cloud experience.
- Familiarity with development tools such as IntelliJ IDEA, pgAdmin, and SQL Server Management Studio.
- Experience with JIRA, IssueTrak, or similar ticketing systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in software engineering and architecture design.

Work Environment & Eligibility
- This is a fully remote independent contractor position.
- Candidates must reside in the United States or Canada.
- Candidates must be U.S./Canadian citizens or U.S. permanent residents, as applicable.
- Candidates must be available to collaborate during Pacific Time business hours.
- Work schedules may vary depending on project and assignment requirements.
Reporting & Collaboration
The Software Developer will report to the Applications Development Manager and work closely with IT management, department heads, internal IT teams, external vendors, and business partners.
