Job Summary
The Store Manager will be responsible for the complete management of Curio Education’s books, student kits, teacher resources, learning materials, and other academic inventory.
The role involves maintaining accurate stock records, receiving material from printers/vendors, preparing school-wise orders, supervising packing and dispatch, maintaining documentation, and ensuring that the correct material reaches schools on time and in good condition.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate stock of all Curio books, workbooks, teacher manuals, flashcards, kits, stationery, and learning resources.
- Maintain SKU/class/level-wise inventory records.
- Track opening stock, inward stock, outward stock, damaged stock, returns, and closing stock.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification.
- Maintain minimum stock levels and highlight requirements for reprinting or procurement.
- Ensure stock records match physical inventory.
2. Receiving & Inward Material
- Receive books and other materials from printers and vendors.
- Verify quantity and quality against purchase orders/challans.
- Check for damaged, defective, incorrectly printed, or missing material.
- Maintain Goods Receipt/Inward Register.
- Coordinate with the concerned team regarding shortages or discrepancies.
3. School Order Management
- Receive school-wise requirements from the operations/sales/academic team.
- Prepare material according to:
- School
- Class/Level
- Student strength
- Book set
- Teacher resources
- Additional learning material
- Cross-check every order before packing.
- Maintain school-wise dispatch and pending-order records.
4. Packing & Dispatch
- Supervise proper packing and labelling of books and learning materials.
- Prepare packing lists, challans, and dispatch documents.
- Coordinate with courier, transporters, logistics partners, or school representatives.
- Track dispatched consignments until delivery.
- Follow up on delayed, lost, or damaged shipments.
- Maintain Proof of Delivery wherever required.
5. Student Kit & Book Set Preparation
- Ensure complete book sets/student kits are prepared according to Curio specifications.
- Check that no book or resource is missing from a kit.
- Maintain records of assembled and unassembled kits.
- Plan kit preparation according to school opening dates and order timelines.
6. Store Organisation
- Maintain a clean, organised, labelled, and easily accessible store.
- Arrange stock systematically by class, subject, level, title, or SKU.
- Follow FIFO wherever applicable.
- Ensure proper storage to prevent damage from moisture, dust, mishandling, or pests.
- Maintain appropriate safety and security of stock.
7. MIS & Documentation
Maintain daily/weekly/monthly records including:
- Stock Register
- Inward Register
- Outward Register
- School-wise Dispatch Register
- Damage/Shortage Register
- Return Register
- Pending Order Report
- Reorder Requirement Report
Submit periodic inventory and dispatch reports to management.
8. Coordination
Coordinate regularly with:
- Academic Team
- Sales Team
- School Relationship Team
- Accounts Department
- Purchase/Procurement Team
- Printers and Vendors
- Courier and Logistics Partners
Ensure everyone concerned receives timely updates regarding stock availability and dispatch status.
9. Returns & Damaged Stock
- Receive and verify returned material.
- Segregate reusable, damaged, outdated, and defective stock.
- Maintain proper documentation for returns.
- Report excessive damages, shortages, or printing defects to management.
- Prevent unnecessary wastage of books and learning resources.
10. Team Supervision
- Supervise store assistants, helpers, packers, and dispatch staff, if applicable.
- Allocate daily work.
- Monitor packing accuracy and productivity.
- Ensure discipline, cleanliness, and proper handling of material.
Key Performance Indicators – KPIs
Performance will be measured on:
- Inventory accuracy
- Zero/minimum stock mismatch
- Order-packing accuracy
- On-time dispatch percentage
- Reduction in damaged/lost inventory
- Timely stock reporting
- Proper documentation
- Minimum school complaints related to wrong or missing books
- Timely identification of low-stock items
- Store organization and discipline
Qualification
- Graduate preferred.
- Diploma/qualification in Store Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations will be an advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in store, warehouse, inventory, books, publishing, education material, stationery, or logistics management preferred.
- Experience with a publishing house, educational company, bookstore, school supplier, or warehouse will be an added advantage.

Typical Daily Responsibilities
A typical day may include:
- Checking pending school orders.
- Reviewing available stock.
- Receiving and verifying incoming books.
- Allocating material for school orders.
- Supervising packing.
- Cross-checking quantities before dispatch.
- Coordinating transportation/courier.
- Updating inventory records.
- Tracking deliveries.
Reporting shortages, damages, and reorder requirements.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 per month
