Hospital Receptionist / Front Desk Executive

Job Summary

The Hospital Receptionist is responsible for managing the hospital front desk, assisting patients and visitors, handling appointments and registration, answering telephone calls, and coordinating with various hospital departments to ensure smooth and efficient patient services.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome and assist patients, attendants, and visitors in a polite and professional manner.
Handle patient registration, admission, discharge, and appointment-related enquiries.
Schedule and manage patient appointments.
Answer incoming telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate department/person.
Provide accurate information regarding hospital services, doctors, departments, visiting hours, and facilities.
Maintain patient registration records and front-office documentation.
Coordinate with doctors, nurses, billing, laboratory, pharmacy, and other departments as required.
Guide patients regarding billing procedures, investigations, reports, and other hospital services.
Handle patient enquiries and complaints professionally and escalate issues to the concerned authority when required.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and hospital records.
Collect and maintain required documents from patients/attendants.
Assist with cash/billing-related coordination when assigned.
Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and proper organization of the reception area.
Maintain daily registers, records, and reports as instructed by management.
Follow hospital policies, procedures, and patient-safety guidelines.
Perform other front-office duties assigned by the hospital management.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 12th Pass; graduate preferred.
Basic computer knowledge and MS Office skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of English, Hindi, and Marathi is preferred.
Previous hospital/front-office experience will be an advantage.

Polite and professional behaviour.
Ability to handle patients and attendants calmly.
Basic computer and data-entry skills.
Good telephone etiquette.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Good coordination and teamwork.

Working Conditions

Full-time hospital-based position.
Shift duties may be applicable, including weekends and public holidays as per hospital requirements.
Employee must maintain professional appearance, punctuality, discipline, and confidentiality.
