Role description

Senior Java Developer

Job Summary

The Senior Java Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend applications using Java and modern microservices architecture. The role focuses on building scalable REST APIs, event-driven applications, and cloud-native solutions while ensuring application performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based backend applications.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and industry best practices.
Develop event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.
Implement caching solutions using Redis to improve application performance.
Design and develop applications using MongoDB and SQL/MySQL databases.
Develop and support Microservices-based applications.
Deploy and maintain applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Azure Container Apps.
Perform code reviews, debugging, performance tuning, and application optimization.
Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and Business teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to technical design discussions.
Follow secure coding standards, SDLC best practices, and CI/CD processes.

Must Have Skills

10+ years of hands-on experience in Java development.
Strong expertise in Core Java and Java 8+ features.
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and REST API development.
Strong experience with Apache Kafka.
Experience implementing Redis for caching and performance optimization.
Hands-on experience with MongoDB.
Good knowledge of SQL/MySQL.
Moderate experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Azure Container Apps.
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.
Good understanding of Microservices architecture.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have Skills

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Exposure to Azure Cloud services.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or Splunk.
Familiarity with software design patterns and distributed systems.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Azure or Java certifications are an added advantage.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
