Job Summary
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for implementing, administering, and supporting enterprise compute, virtualization, backup, and storage platforms.
The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience with Dell PowerEdge hardware, VMware vSphere 8.x, Dell Avamar, Veeam, and Dell Data Domain in complex, mission-critical environments.
This role is focused on implementation, operations, troubleshooting, upgrades, and lifecycle management of infrastructure systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Implement and support Dell PowerEdge server infrastructure.
Deploy, configure, and administer VMware vSphere 8.x environments including ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, and lifecycle updates.
Implement and maintain backup solutions using Dell Avamar, Veeam, and Data Domain.
Configure and manage Data Domain systems including MTrees, replication, retention policies, garbage collection, and capacity monitoring.
Perform server builds, hypervisor installations, patching, and firmware upgrades.
Troubleshoot complex hardware, virtualization, storage, and backup issues.
Execute disaster recovery procedures and backup restoration activities.
Implement backup policies and validate successful backup and restore operations.
Maintain Windows Server environments (on-premises and hybrid integration).
Apply security patches, hardening standards, and vulnerability remediation.
Maintain operational documentation and update configuration records.
Coordinate with vendors (Dell, VMware, Veeam) for support and escalations.
Participate in On-Call support rotation for critical infrastructure system.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Computer Science required or Bachelor's Degree Information System required
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years in the infrastructure Engineering and administering. Managing VMware/EMC Avamar/Data Domain products. required
Prior experience on the follwowing
Experience on VMware vSphere 8.x (ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion).
Candidate must have experience in administering VMWare vSphere 8.x environments
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Dell PowerEdge servers.
Experience implementing and managing Avamar, Veeam, and Data Domain backup environments.
Understanding of backup scheduling, retention, replication, and recovery procedures.
Knowledge of SAN/NAS storage concepts (iSCSI, FC, NFS).
Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 administration.
Basic scripting skills (PowerCLI or similar) for automation tasks.
Solid understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals.

Physical and Travel Requirements
15% travel, including global travel
Occasional on-call work required
Prefer 12pm – 9pm India time. Willingness to work outside of these hours as needed.
Ability to work in a global and virtual environment and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
