Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care & Positioning: Prepare, position, and monitor patients for scans, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Equipment Operation: Operate CT scanners, set technical parameters, and troubleshoot equipment.
- Image Acquisition: Perform CT scans (and sometimes X-rays) to capture diagnostic images.
- Contrast Administration: Administer contrast media intravenously as directed, if needed.
- Quality Assurance: Review images for diagnostic quality and coordinate with radiologists.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and update medical information.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow radiation safety protocols, hygiene, and infection control guidelines.
- Collaboration: Work with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
- Education: Graduate of a radiologic technology program, often with an Associate's degree.
- Certification: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography, with CT certification often required or preferred.
