Job Description: Sr. Manager/ Deputy Chief Manager – Human Resources

Job Overview

The role will play a strategic and operational role in driving HR excellence through effective HR partnering and deep expertise in Workday HCM. The role requires strong functional understanding of HR processes and hands-on experience in Workday configurations, enhancements, and system optimization.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with business leaders and HR teams to translate business requirements into scalable HR solutions within Workday. This role demands a balance of HR domain knowledge, system capability, stakeholder management, and execution excellence.

Essential Qualifications

MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent postgraduate qualification
Minimum 7+ years of overall HR experience
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in Workday HCM
Strong understanding of core HR functional processes
Proficiency in Workday modules such as:
- Core HCM
- Business Process Framework
- Time and Absence Management
- Compensation
- Recruitment and Onboarding

Relevant Experience

Prior experience in an HR Business Partner (HRBP) or HR Partnering role
Experience in gathering functional requirements and translating them into Workday configurations
Hands-on exposure to:
- Workday enhancements and system optimization
- Business process re-engineering
- Creating and modifying business process frameworks
- Configuring security roles and domains
- Building calculated fields and custom reports
Experience in managing system upgrades and testing cycles
Exposure to HR analytics and data-driven decision-making
Experience working in cross-functional and matrixed environments

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Business Partnering

Partner with business leaders to understand workforce needs and HR challenges
Provide strategic HR inputs aligned with business goals
Drive employee engagement and HR interventions

2. Workday HCM Management

Lead functional requirement gathering from stakeholders
Translate business needs into Workday system configurations
Manage enhancements, change requests, and system improvements
Configure and optimize Workday modules including Core HCM, Compensation, Talent Optimization, Recruitment and Onboarding, Expense, Integration, Absence, Reporting and all other major modules
Ensure accuracy of system data and integrity of HR processes

3. System Enhancements & Configuration

Work closely with IT and external consultants to implement Workday enhancements
Perform system testing and coordinate release management
Develop and maintain documentation for configurations and process flows
Monitor Workday releases and recommend adoption of new features

4. HR Operations & Compliance

Ensure HR processes are compliant with company policies and statutory requirements
Support payroll and finance teams with accurate HR data
Oversee audit readiness related to HR systems and processes

5. Reporting & Analytics

Develop dashboards and reports for management review
Utilize Workday reporting tools and calculated fields for advanced reporting
Provide workforce analytics to support business decision-making

6. Process Improvement & Governance

Identify automation opportunities within HR processes
Drive process standardization and optimization
Maintain governance framework for Workday security and access
