Freelance QA Engineer / Application AuditorRole Overview
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented Freelance QA Engineer / Application Auditor to perform comprehensive end-to-end testing and production readiness audits for our web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently auditing the entire application, identifying issues across UI/UX, functionality, backend integrations, performance, and security, and working closely with the development team until all issues are resolved.
Key Responsibilities Complete Application Auditing
- Perform comprehensive end-to-end testing of the entire application.
- Audit every screen, page, tab, module, workflow, and user journey.
- Identify UI/UX inconsistencies, broken layouts, spacing issues, alignment problems, and responsive design defects.
- Verify that every feature is fully implemented, properly integrated, and production-ready.
- Ensure navigation, routing, and user flows work seamlessly across the application.
- Validate authentication, authorization, role-based permissions, and session management.
- Verify database integrations, backend APIs, and third-party services.
- Perform regression testing after every major update.
- Test edge cases, exception handling, fallback scenarios, and error recovery.
- Validate real-time features, notifications, background jobs, and asynchronous operations.
Functional & Technical QA
- Test frontend functionality across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Validate backend APIs using Postman or similar API testing tools.
- Identify broken routes, console errors, failed API requests, and integration issues.
- Verify Supabase, Firebase, Node.js, Edge Functions, or other backend services.
- Test forms, dashboards, file uploads, OTP verification, payment workflows, and reporting modules.
- Ensure no placeholder content, dummy data, mock APIs, or incomplete implementations remain in production.
UI/UX & Design Review
- Review the entire application for design consistency.
- Verify layouts, spacing, typography, colors, icons, cards, tables, dashboards, forms, modals, and navigation.
- Ensure the application is fully responsive across all supported devices and browsers.
- Recommend improvements to enhance usability, accessibility, and overall user experience.
Performance & Security Testing
- Identify performance bottlenecks and slow-loading pages.
- Review caching strategies, lazy loading, and optimization opportunities.
- Detect security vulnerabilities and insecure implementation practices.
- Verify production configurations, environment variables, and deployment settings.
- Ensure proper input validation, secure data handling, and adherence to security best practices.
Reporting & Collaboration
- Create detailed bug reports with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, and screen recordings.
- Maintain structured QA reports and testing documentation.
- Classify issues based on severity, priority, and business impact.
- Coordinate with developers to validate fixes and perform retesting.
- Track overall testing progress and production readiness until release.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices.
- Hands-on experience with manual testing and complete application auditing.
- Experience testing React, Next.js, or similar modern web applications.
- Good understanding of APIs, databases, backend integrations, and authentication systems.
- Experience using Postman, browser developer tools, and debugging utilities.
- Ability to identify UI/UX inconsistencies and usability issues.
- Familiarity with GitHub workflows and issue tracking systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience auditing SaaS, fintech, ERP, HRMS, CRM, or enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of Supabase, Firebase, PostgreSQL, or Node.js backends.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks is an advantage.
- Basic SQL knowledge for database validation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
- Experience working with startup teams and agile development processes.
