The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

Responsibilities:
This position will be part of the Group Platform Service and Engineering - Toolchain SRE team and will fit within the existing Engineering and Site Reliability Engineers. Within the team we will have, Software Engineers Developers, and Site Reliability Engineers, and a thin layer of Operations, forming a true DevOps team.
Below are the key responsibilities of the Platform Engineer role:

Enhancing and automating tasks using programming languages such as Java/ Python, JavaScript, Go lang and others.

Develop bug free, strategic solutions in Toolchain and AWS.

Good knowledge and working experience of DevOps.

Strong Scripting experience in Ansible, Shell Scripting (Linux) or Python 3.8 and above.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that JIRAs and incidents are resolved effectively and meet quality standards.

Documenting SOPs and maintenance processes to facilitate knowledge transfer and maintenance.

Troubleshooting issues that arise with Toolchain or Unity Core Services platform etc. and working to resolve them as quickly as possible.
In addition to these technical responsibilities, possess strong communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with others.
Mandatory Skills and qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

5+ years’ Experience working as DevOps Engineer.

Must have experience in building & maintaining CI/ CD pipelines in Jenkins/ Gitlab/ Github.

Good hands-on experience in Config Management tool like Ansible.

Good work experience in Python, Unix/ Linux shell scripting.

Must be familiar and have worked with YAML, JSON, XML markup languages.

Must be familiar and used REST APIs.

Exposure to agile development practices.

Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills for cross team collaboration.

Ability to influence business and IT stakeholders for continuous improvement.

A strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audience, and dev stakeholders.
Good To Have Skills

Experience of working in Banking and Financial IT domain.

Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence tools.

Knowledge and development experience in infrastructure as code (IaC), Terraform.

Python Programming knowledge and skills.

Experience on Go Lang will be added advantage.

Experience with Nexus or Artifactory.

Experience in migrating projects to Gitlab CI/ Jenkins, Nexus etc.

Experience with Open telemetry, Monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana.

Experience Supporting applications for public/private/hybrid clouds.

Knowledge / experience of any of these technologies

o Kubernetes
