Timing - 7.30 pm to 4.30 am

MIRA Labs AI, Inc. builds AI-powered automation solutions for the US mortgage industry. Our platform combines Large Language Model (LLM)-driven agents, Voice AI, and intelligent workflow automation to streamline loan origination and processing for US lenders.

Headquartered in the United States with an engineering hub in Pune, we are a fast-growing, product-focused company scaling our engineering team this year. As part of our team, you'll work on cutting-edge AI products used daily by mortgage lenders across the US while collaborating directly with customers and cross-functional teams.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain the core services that power our mortgage automation platform. You will develop scalable APIs, backend services, data pipelines, and third-party integrations that support AI agents and customer-facing applications.

This is an end-to-end ownership role where you'll design, build, deploy, monitor, and continuously improve backend services in a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python.
Build secure and reliable REST APIs for internal and external applications.
Develop integrations with third-party mortgage ecosystem platforms, including LOS systems, credit providers, income and asset verification services, and document management vendors.
Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas to support evolving business requirements.
Build asynchronous and event-driven workflows using queues, workers, and webhooks for document processing and loan workflows.
Ensure system reliability through logging, monitoring, alerting, and proactive issue resolution.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development standards.
Collaborate closely with Frontend Developers, AI Engineers, Product Managers, and US-based customers to deliver high-quality solutions.
Troubleshoot production issues and take ownership through resolution.

Required Skills & Qualifications

3–5 years of professional backend development experience, primarily using Python.
Strong experience with modern Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
Solid understanding of RESTful API design, authentication, authorization, and API versioning.
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases, including schema design and query optimization.
Experience with asynchronous processing and message queues such as Celery, Google Pub/Sub, Azure Service Bus, or similar technologies.
Working knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to take ownership of backend services from development through production support.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Vertex AI into production systems.
Exposure to the US fintech, lending, or mortgage industry.
Previous experience working in a startup or fast-paced product environment.
