About the Role:

The Senior Automation Engineer - Structural will play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our structural engineering processes through automation. This position involves designing, developing, and implementing automated solutions that streamline workflows and improve project delivery timelines. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and ensure that solutions align with industry standards and best practices. Additionally, the role requires continuous monitoring and optimization of existing automation systems to adapt to evolving project requirements. Ultimately, the Senior Automation Engineer will contribute significantly to the overall productivity and innovation within the structural engineering department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering within the structural domain.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, or Java.
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and practices.
Experience with automation tools and software relevant to structural engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience with advanced automation technologies such as AI and machine learning.
Familiarity with industry-specific software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
Project management certification or experience leading engineering projects.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance in structural engineering.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop automated systems and tools to enhance structural engineering processes.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify areas for automation and efficiency improvements.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of automated solutions to ensure reliability and performance.
Provide technical support and training to team members on the use of automation tools and systems.
Monitor and analyze the performance of automation systems, making adjustments as necessary to optimize functionality.

Skills:

The required skills in programming and automation are essential for developing effective solutions that enhance structural engineering workflows. Daily work will involve using these programming skills to create scripts and tools that automate repetitive tasks, thereby increasing efficiency. Strong analytical skills will be utilized to assess the performance of automation systems and identify areas for improvement. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with advanced technologies, will enable the engineer to innovate and implement cutting-edge solutions that keep the organization competitive. Overall, a combination of technical expertise and collaborative skills will be crucial for successfully executing projects and driving continuous improvement.
