Job Description: Technical Support Trainee – Desktop & Network

Job Title: Technical Support Trainee – Desktop & Network
Department: IT Support
Employment Type: Full-Time / Internship / Trainee

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Technical Support Trainee to join our IT Support team. The trainee will assist in providing first-level technical support for desktop systems, laptops, printers, and basic network infrastructure. This role is ideal for recent graduates or candidates looking to build a career in IT infrastructure and technical support.

Key Responsibilities

Provide first-level technical support for desktop, laptop, and peripheral devices.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and common software applications.
Assist users with hardware and software issues through remote or onsite support.
Set up and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
Support basic LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and network connectivity troubleshooting.
Configure user accounts, email clients, and shared resources.
Perform routine system maintenance, software updates, and antivirus checks.
Document support requests and resolutions in the ticketing system.
Escalate complex technical issues to senior support engineers when necessary.
Maintain IT inventory and assist with asset management.
Follow company IT policies and security guidelines.

Required Skills

Basic knowledge of desktop hardware and troubleshooting.
Understanding of Windows 10/11 installation and configuration.
Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, Wi-Fi).
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and common business applications.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Willingness to learn new technologies and work in a team environment.

Educational Qualification

Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
Freshers are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365, or Microsoft 365.
Basic understanding of printers and scanners.
Exposure to remote desktop support tools.
Basic knowledge of networking devices such as routers and switches.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA (or pursuing) are an added advantage.
