Your Team's Impact
We are seeking a Senior Principal Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and delivery of the Catalog and Governance capabilities within the FactSet Intelligence Platform (FIP) Data Layer.
This role owns the catalog as the authoritative system connecting semantic models, and physical data sets, enabling trusted, secure, and discoverable data across domains. The Senior Principal Product Manager will implement governance frameworks, model standards, and catalog services that support scalable domain onboarding, data model compliance, and AI-ready data access. As a senior leader, this role also drives insights-based product discovery and cross-functional strategy alignment.
What You'll Do
Insights — Derives insights to support product bets
Understands the dynamics of domain teams, governance & standards office, platform consumers, and stakeholders relying on catalog and governance capabilities; builds this understanding through regular and direct engagement.
Owns product discovery for catalog and governance capabilities — proactively validates opportunities (e.g., model standards, lineage tooling, compliance frameworks) to prove value, viability, feasibility, and usability before development.
Uses catalog adoption, model quality, and governance compliance data to evaluate and inform strategy and decision-making.
Measures what matters: discoverability, trust, and access enablement, alongside adoption, engagement, and compliance metrics.
Strategy — Identifies and articulates a path to achieve results
Defines and executes the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for Catalog & Governance in the context of the FIP Data Layer and overall platform strategy.
Evangelizes catalog and governance strategy across domain and platform teams.
Owns business case development for governance tooling and catalog investment (resourcing, KPIs).
Accountable for adoption, compliance, and domain onboarding goals.
Partners with the Governance office and domain teams to operationalize governance requirements and best practices.
Creates a product roadmap that aligns Data Platform, Semantics, Security, Architecture, and Domain teams, sharing timelines, constraints, and dependencies.
Execution — Delivers on product outcomes
Establishes the catalog as the system of record for model, domain definitions, and physical data assets.
Defines logical-to-physical data mappings to enable semantic discovery and governed data access.
Ensures model quality, completeness, lineage, and lifecycle management standards.
Delivers governance tooling, policies, and measurement frameworks that enable compliance at scale.
Implements standards for data classification, privacy, security, access controls, and auditability based on the Governance Framework.
Enables seamless resolution from business concepts and user intent to governed data assets.
Partners with development teams to define acceptance criteria and deliver usable, well-governed products.
As a subject matter expert in catalog and governance, serves as a resource for complex support escalations and advocates for reducing support burden.
Leadership — Inspires cross-functional teams to achieve great outcomes
Influences and motivates Data Platform, Semantics, Security, Architecture, Governance & Standards office and Domain teams, without authority, to achieve catalog and governance outcomes.
Drives adoption of governance and catalog best practices across the department.
Coordinates delivery across multiple domain and cross platform teams.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills
15+ years of Product Management or Product Ownership experience in data platforms, governance, metadata, or analytics ecosystems.
Experience with data catalogs, data model management, data governance, and enterprise data architecture.
Strong understanding of logical data modeling, data lineage, and mapping business concepts to physical data assets.
Proven success delivering platform products across multiple teams and stakeholders at scale, including influencing without direct authority.
