Job Description:
We are seeking a Python Infrastructure Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience to manage and optimize infrastructure, containerization, and developer tooling across large codebases. Based in Bangalore with a hybrid work model, this role focuses on maintaining multi-platform development environments, optimizing container lifecycles, and ensuring seamless cross-platform shell compatibility.
What will your role look like
- Maintain, optimize, and debug large Python codebases of over 5,000 lines utilizing typing, pathlib, subprocess, pytest, and advanced mocking techniques.
- Configure and troubleshoot development environments using Docker, docker-compose, and the Dev Containers specification.
- Manage cross-platform developer setups across macOS, Linux, and Windows, handling shell quirks, path separators, symlinks, and junctions.
- Execute complex Git operations, including worktrees, hooks, submodules, and detailed commit inspection.
- Analyze and resolve build performance bottlenecks inside containers for large C++ or Java codebases without writing application code.

We would like you to bring along
- 5+ years of experience writing production Python with strong command of typing, pathlib, subprocess, pytest, and mocking.
- Deep familiarity with Docker, docker-compose, and devcontainer.json configuration mechanics.
- Cross-platform proficiency across macOS, Linux, and Windows (PowerShell vs. bash, POSIX vs. NTFS file systems).
- Advanced Git knowledge including worktrees, hooks, submodules, and low-level commands.
- Working understanding of build environments for large C++ (CMake/Bazel) or Java (Maven/Gradle) codebases.
- Familiarity with Django, Linux, Storage, Virtualization, and VMware.
