ABOUT EIGENDYNE
EigenDyne is a Tamil Nadu-based deep-tech robotics startup building adaptive, vision-driven robotic scanning systems for manufacturing and automotive OEM customers. We are recognized under the Startup India (Deep Tech) initiative and are building next-generation classical computer-vision-based robotic platforms for industrial inspection and quality automation.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a motivated Robotics Engineer Trainee to join our core engineering team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with a foundational understanding of ROS who is eager to build hands-on experience with real robotic hardware, sensor integration, and scanning platforms in a fast-paced startup environment. You will work closely with senior engineers on live projects and receive structured mentorship.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in developing and testing ROS-based nodes and packages for robotic scanning applications
- Support integration of sensors (cameras, LiDAR, depth sensors) with robotic platforms
- Help set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot robot hardware in the lab and on the shop floor
- Write basic scripts in Python/C++ for data logging, testing, and automation of routine tasks
- Participate in debugging and validation of robot motion and scanning workflows
- Document test procedures, results, and technical learnings
- Collaborate with the mechanical, electronics, and software teams during builds and trials
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field (recent graduates or final-year students)
- Working knowledge of ROS/ROS2 fundamentals (nodes, topics, services, launch files) through academic or personal projects
- Basic programming skills in Python and/or C++
- Understanding of basic robotics concepts: kinematics, sensors, and control
- Willingness to work hands-on with hardware and learn on the job
- Good problem-solving attitude and eagerness to learn in a startup environment
PREFERRED / GOOD TO HAVE
- Exposure to Linux/Ubuntu environment
- Familiarity with Git version control
- Prior project or internship experience involving robots, drones, or automation
- Basic exposure to Gazebo or other robotics simulators
EDUCATION
B.E./B.Tech in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication, or Computer Science (or equivalent).
