The Transparency team is a Front Office development team responsible for the development of cross-asset automated pricing and risk systems, primarily focused on FICC derivatives. The team works directly with global Sales, Trading, and Quant teams on the development of applications incorporating pricing and risk models used for electronic trading.

Position Overview
The Transparency Team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Trivandrum, India, to join its core Pricing and Risk Services Development Team.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Core Java development and experience building enterprise-grade, data-intensive applications with high-throughput and low-latency performance requirements. The role requires close collaboration with Sales, Trading, Quantitative, eTrading, and Infrastructure teams to develop and optimize pricing and risk systems for electronic trading platforms.
This is a highly technical role focused on developing real-time streaming solutions with stringent latency and performance expectations.
Must-Have Skills
- 7+ years of Java development experience building enterprise software for data-intensive applications
- Strong Core Java knowledge with hands-on experience in JDK 17+
- Strong understanding and experience with multi-threaded programming
- Experience implementing automated unit, integration, and regression testing within CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to work with Sales, Trading, and Quant teams on implementing pricing and risk models into high-throughput streaming data pipelines
- Ability to collaborate with eTrading and Infrastructure teams on efficient distribution of pricing and risk model outputs to facilitate low-latency trading
- JavaScript / TypeScript / React development experience
- Practical experience with Web UI development
- Experience with real-time Web APIs (WebSocket and/or SSE)
- Strong understanding of performance-focused software engineering principles
- Experience working in Agile and SDLC environments
- Ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Experience designing, operationalizing, supporting, and maintaining solutions in compliance with enterprise and industry regulatory requirements for a Global Systemically Important Bank (G-SIB)
- RHEL Linux 8+ environment experience

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cross-asset pricing and risk applications for electronic trading platforms.
- Build and enhance high-throughput, low-latency streaming data services.
- Collaborate directly with Sales, Trading, Quantitative, eTrading, and Infrastructure teams.
- Implement pricing and risk models into enterprise-scale production systems.
- Develop and support performant UI components using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
- Ensure robust automated testing through unit, integration, and regression test frameworks.
- Optimize application performance across backend services and frontend user interfaces.
- Contribute to architectural decisions focusing on scalability, reliability, and latency optimization.
- Support production systems and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and SDLC practices.
Team Emphasis
Core Java is the primary focus of this role. Candidates are expected to possess practical working knowledge of JavaScript, Web UI development, and real-time Web APIs (WebSocket and/or SSE) to contribute effectively in a full-stack capacity.
The team develops data-intensive solutions with:
- High throughput (10–100Ks of messages per second per thread)
- Low latency (sub-millisecond performance requirements)
UI performance is considered an integral part of the overall solution performance. Candidates should approach both Core Java and JavaScript development with a strong focus on performance engineering and systems-level thinking.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences, or other numerically focused disciplines.
