Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Direct Tax professional to join our Tax team. The candidate will be responsible for handling direct tax compliance, tax audits, assessment proceedings, advisory assignments, and client coordination. The role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical ability, and the capability to independently manage client assignments while guiding junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Finalisation and review of books of accounts and financial statements.
Preparation and filing of Income Tax Returns for various types of entities, including companies, firms, LLPs, and individuals.
Preparation and filing of TDS returns and ensuring timely TDS compliance.
Planning, execution, and supervision of Tax Audits under the Income-tax Act.
Handling Income Tax assessments, notices, submissions, and related proceedings.
Preparation and review of tax computation, tax provisions, and related working papers.
Provide direct tax advisory and practical solutions on client-specific tax matters.
Research and analyse provisions of the Income-tax Act, Rules, circulars, notifications, and judicial pronouncements.
Review financial statements for compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax requirements.
Identify tax risks, compliance gaps, and opportunities and communicate them effectively to clients and senior team members.
Analyse financial statements and relevant financial information for tax and business purposes.
Maintain professional and effective relationships with clients and their finance/accounting teams.
Respond to client queries promptly, accurately, and professionally.
Prepare clear and technically sound drafts of correspondence, reports, submissions, and client communications.
Coordinate with clients for obtaining required information and ensure timely completion of assignments.
Lead, manage, and supervise junior team members in execution of assignments.
Review work performed by team members and ensure adherence to defined audit and tax procedures.
Manage multiple assignments effectively and ensure deliverables are completed within stipulated timelines.
Ensure all work meets the quality standards prescribed by the Firm and applicable professional requirements.
Keep abreast of changes in direct tax laws, regulations, CBDT notifications, circulars, and important judicial developments.
Candidate Profile
Qualification: CA / Semi-Qualified CA / Commerce Graduate, as applicable to the level of the position.
Relevant experience in a CA Firm / Tax Consultancy / Professional Services Firm.
Strong working knowledge of Income Tax, TDS and Tax Audit.
Experience in handling multiple clients and independently managing assignments.
Good analytical, drafting, communication, and client-handling skills.
Ability to lead and supervise junior team members.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to professional quality and timelines.
