About the Role

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Motion & Illustration Designer to join our Product Design Team.

In this role, you will work closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to bring product experiences to life through motion, illustration, animation, and visual storytelling.

You will play an important role in making our products more expressive, intuitive, and engaging by creating meaningful experiences across micro-interactions, onboarding, illustrations, empty states, feature education, and complex product flows.

We believe motion and illustration are not just decorative elements—they are powerful tools to communicate, guide, simplify, and enhance the user experience.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with Product Designers and Product Managers from the early stages of product discovery and ideation.
Create motion concepts, animations, and micro-interactions for consumer and supply products.
Bring UI designs to life through meaningful transitions, interactions, feedback states, and animations.
Create illustrations, icons, characters, and visual assets for product experiences.
Design motion and illustrations for:
Onboarding
Empty states
Error states
Success states
Feature discovery
Product education
User engagement
Develop visual solutions for complex product problems and make them easier for users to understand.
Create motion prototypes to help Product Designers communicate interaction ideas before development.
Collaborate with Engineers to ensure animations and interactions are implemented effectively while maintaining design intent.
Build and maintain reusable motion and illustration components, patterns, and guidelines.
Explore new interaction and visual design patterns to improve the overall product experience.
Participate in design critiques and contribute to improving the motion, illustration, and visual craft standards across the Product Design Team.
Balance creativity with product constraints, usability, performance, and technical feasibility.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in Motion Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Illustration, or a related field.
Strong portfolio demonstrating motion and illustration work specifically for digital products/apps.
Strong understanding of:
UI/UX principles
Interaction design
Visual hierarchy
Composition
Typography
Visual storytelling
Strong illustration skills with the ability to develop original visual styles and assets.
Experience designing micro-interactions, UI animations, transitions, and product motion.
Proficiency in Figma, After Effects, Illustrator, or equivalent tools.
Experience collaborating closely with Product Designers and Engineers.
Ability to understand how motion and illustration contribute to the overall product experience—not just individual screens.
Strong attention to detail and a high standard for design craft.
Ability to take an ambiguous product problem and translate it into a clear visual or motion solution.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative product environment.

Good to Have

Experience with Lottie, Rive, ProtoPie, Principle, or similar interaction/motion tools.
Experience creating animations for mobile applications.
Understanding of motion performance and implementation constraints across mobile/web.
Experience with design systems and reusable motion/visual components.
Basic knowledge of 3D or character animation.
Experience working in a consumer-tech or product startup.

Who You’ll Work With

You will be part of the Product Design Team and collaborate closely with:

Product Designers → Product Managers → Engineers → Research & Data Teams

Your primary focus will be on product experiences, with occasional collaboration with Brand/Marketing teams when product-led visual assets are required.
