To manage the end-to-end procurement of packaging materials, ensuring the right quality, cost, quantity, and timely availability of packaging required for production, retail, gifting, and other business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Packaging Procurement
Identify, evaluate, and source packaging materials as per business requirements.
Procure primary and secondary packaging such as boxes, cartons, trays, wrappers, labels, pouches, ribbons, bags, jars, containers, etc.
Coordinate with internal teams to understand packaging specifications, volumes, and timelines.
Ensure timely procurement to avoid production or dispatch delays.
2. Vendor Management
Identify and develop reliable packaging suppliers.
Negotiate prices, payment terms, MOQ, lead times, and other commercial terms.
Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and continuously develop alternate sources.
Conduct vendor evaluation based on quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and service.
3. Cost Management
Obtain and compare quotations from multiple vendors.
Negotiate competitive pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Track packaging costs and support cost reduction initiatives.
Monitor price changes in raw materials and their impact on packaging costs.
4. Quality & Specifications
Ensure all packaging materials meet approved specifications and quality standards.
Coordinate with Quality, Production, R&D, Design, and Operations teams for packaging approvals.
Manage samples, prototypes, trials, and vendor development.
Address quality issues and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers.
5. New Product & Packaging Development
Work closely with the R&D, Marketing, Design, and Production teams for new packaging development.
Coordinate with vendors for new designs, samples, prototypes, printing, finishes, and production trials.
Ensure packaging is commercially viable and scalable for mass production.
6. Inventory & Planning
Monitor packaging stock levels and ensure availability based on production requirements.
Coordinate with planning and warehouse teams for inventory requirements.
Track consumption, lead times, and reorder levels.
Minimise excess, obsolete, and slow-moving packaging inventory.
7. Purchase & Documentation
Raise and manage Purchase Orders as per approved requirements.
Follow up with vendors on order confirmation, production, dispatch, and delivery.
Maintain accurate procurement records, quotations, rate contracts, and vendor documentation.
Ensure procurement is within approved budgets and company processes.
Key Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of packaging materials and suppliers.
Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
Good understanding of costing, MOQ, lead time, and commercial terms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Good coordination and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple packaging projects simultaneously.
Strong Excel/MIS skills.
Ability to work with Design, R&D, Production, Quality, Finance, and Operations teams.
Preferred Experience:
3–7 years of experience in packaging procurement/purchase.
Experience in FMCG, Food & Beverage, Chocolates, Bakery, Hospitality, Retail, or Premium Gifting is preferred.
Experience dealing with packaging manufacturers and printers will be an advantage.

Educational Qualification:
Graduate / Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
