Accountant – Finance, Real Estate & Investments

Location: Mogappair, Chennai, Tamil Nadu
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: ₹15,000 – ₹45,000 per month
Experience: 2–5 years

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented and responsible Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting and financial records across our business activities involving Finance, Real Estate, Trading and Infrastructure.

This is a hands-on role. The ideal candidate should be capable of maintaining accounts independently, understanding financial transactions and providing accurate financial information to management.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the accounts, rather than someone who only performs data entry.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain day-to-day books of accounts and accounting records.
Record and reconcile bank accounts, cash transactions, receipts and payments.
Maintain party-wise ledgers and statements.
Track receivables, payables, advances and settlements.
Maintain records of loans, repayments and interest calculations.
Maintain property-wise and project-wise financial records.
Track real estate purchase, sale, development and project-related expenses.
Prepare and maintain P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow statements.
Verify invoices, bills, vouchers and supporting documents.
Conduct regular bank and ledger reconciliations.
Monitor outstanding amounts and upcoming payments.
Prepare MIS and financial summaries for management.
Coordinate with Chartered Accountants, auditors, banks and consultants.
Assist with GST, TDS, income-tax and other statutory requirements.
Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.
Identify discrepancies, errors or unusual transactions and report them promptly.
Maintain complete confidentiality of financial and business information.

Candidate Profile

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
Good working knowledge of Tally / Tally Prime and MS Excel.
Experience with bank reconciliation, ledger scrutiny, receivables and payables.
Ability to independently maintain accounting records.
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and follow-up skills.
Honest, responsible and trustworthy.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following will be preferred:

Real estate / construction accounting
Finance / lending-related accounting
Investment / trading businesses
Project-wise accounting
Loan and interest calculations
High-value transactions
GST and TDS
MIS and management reporting

What We Expect

The role requires more than routine bookkeeping.

The person should be able to understand:

Where money comes from → where it goes → what is outstanding → what is due → what has been invested → and what the actual financial position is.

Accuracy, integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail are extremely important.
