A Snapshot of Your Day
As Head of Tools and Support department, you lead the operational and technical enablement of Siemens Energy’s global License Management processes. Your responsibilities cover License Management tools (Flexera, OpenLM), data, license administration, software request support, automation, and engineering license services. Your day may include addressing a service escalation, reviewing the stability License Management tools or engineering license services, resolving data-quality issues, or aligning an automated workflow with License Management requirements. You translate business and compliance needs into reliable processes, scalable services, and sustainable technical solutions. You lead an international team of specialists and work closely with License Management, Application Management, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Procurement, Service Owners, and external providers.
How You’ll Make an Impact

Ensure reliable License Management operations, including the availability and continuous improvement of License Management tools (Flexera, OpenLM) operational workflows and engineering license services.

Provide complete and decision-ready data on software licenses, entitlements, inventory, usage and engineering license capacity.

Lead License Administration and operational support, including software request processes and second-level License Management support through IT SM tool (ServiceNow).

Drive standardization, automation and system integration to reduce manual effort, improve service quality and increase operational transparency.
What You Bring
-
A university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems or comparable discipline.

Significant leadership experience in an international IT service, application-management, or operations environment.

Strong experience in Software Asset Management operations, IT service management, application management or software licensing support.

Experience with SAM and license-metering solutions, preferably Flexera and OpenLM, as well as ServiceNow or comparable ITSM workflow platforms.

Strong knowledge of data integration, reporting, data quality, process automation and ITIL-based service management.

Good understanding of engineering applications, concurrent licensing, license-server technologies, capacity management and service dependencies.

The ability to translate strategic, compliance, and business requirements into stable and scalable operational services.

Practical knowledge of enterprise software and SaaS licensing, including complex suppliers such as Microsoft and SAP.

Strong leadership, provider-management, stakeholder-management and communication skills.

Excellent written and spoken English and the ability to work effectively across functions, countries and cultures.
About the Team
Digital Core provides the resilient, secure and scalable digital foundation supporting Siemens Energy’s global operations and digital transformation.
Within Digital Core, the new Supplier and License Management department combines strategic supplier governance, software License Management and the operational capabilities required to manage software assets and licensing services effectively.
The Tools and Support team provides the operational and technical foundation for License Management. It is responsible for License Administration, second-level support, software request workflows, SAM tools, license data, reporting, automation and engineering license services. Tools and Support works closely with the License Management team, which owns software strategy, supplier and contract positioning, license interpretation, compliance governance, audit response and cost optimization.
