Job description:

About the Role

We are looking for an Electrical & Lighting Controls Engineer to develop and program advanced lighting systems for our architectural scale models.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in LED lighting, pixel lighting, DMX/Art-Net control, microcontrollers, touchscreen interfaces and lighting automation.

This is a highly practical role requiring the ability to take a lighting concept from design and electronics development through programming, installation and final commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop lighting systems for architectural scale models.

- Program RGB/RGBW and addressable pixel LED lighting.

- Develop dynamic lighting effects, sequences, animations and scene transitions.

- Design and implement DMX512, Art-Net and/or sACN-based lighting control systems.

- Develop touchscreen/touchpad interfaces for controlling model lighting.

- Program controllers using ESP32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi or similar platforms.

- Develop custom lighting-control logic and user interfaces.

- Design LED power distribution, drivers, relays, MOSFET circuits and control wiring.

- Integrate multiple lighting zones into a single control system.

- Create day/night scenes, facade lighting sequences, landscape lighting effects and special effects.

- Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, programming and communication issues.

- Prepare wiring diagrams, circuit diagrams and technical documentation.

- Coordinate with architects, model makers, CGI teams and production teams.

- Conduct testing and commissioning of lighting systems before project delivery.

- Maintain and improve standardised lighting-control systems for future projects.

Required Technical Skills

Essential:

- Addressable LED / Pixel LED technology

- RGB/RGBW LED systems

- DMX512

- Art-Net / sACN

- ESP32 / Arduino / Raspberry Pi

- Touchscreen interfaces

- LED controllers and drivers

- Basic PCB/electronics knowledge

- Power supply selection and load calculation

- Electrical wiring and troubleshooting

- C/C++ or similar embedded programming

Good to Have:

- DALI

- MQTT / IoT

- Python

- Networking fundamentals

- PCB design

- Custom controller development

- Experience with architectural lighting

- Experience with interactive installations or exhibitions

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is hands-on and solution-oriented, rather than someone with only theoretical electrical knowledge.

You should be comfortable with:

Design → Electronics → Programming → Wiring → Testing → Installation → Commissioning

Experience with architectural models, museum installations, experiential spaces, exhibitions, architectural lighting or interactive displays will be highly preferred.

Key Deliverables

The candidate will be responsible for creating lighting systems where a client can, for example:

- Select individual buildings from a touchscreen.

- Turn facade lighting ON/OFF.

- Change colours and intensity.

- Run programmed lighting sequences.

- Activate day/night scenes.

- Control landscape and street lighting.

- Create animated pixel-lighting effects.

- Run multiple buildings simultaneously.

- Store and recall predefined lighting scenes.

Qualifications

- B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems or a related field.

- 3–7 years of relevant hands-on experience.

- Strong practical knowledge of electronics and programmable lighting.

- Candidates with exceptional project experience may be considered irrespective of formal qualification.
