We are looking for a skilled, patient, and engaging Chess Coach to teach children aged 4–14 through interactive online classes.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of chess fundamentals and strategy, along with the ability to explain concepts in a simple, engaging, and age-appropriate manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and interactive online chess classes for children.
- Teach chess fundamentals, rules, piece movement, and basic game principles.
- Develop students' strategic thinking, logical reasoning, concentration, memory, and problem-solving skills.
- Teach opening principles, tactical patterns, middlegame strategies, and endgame concepts according to the student's level.
- Analyze students' games and provide constructive feedback.
- Conduct practice games, puzzles, challenges, and tactical exercises.
- Prepare students for chess competitions and tournaments when required.
- Adapt teaching methods according to the student's age, skill level, and learning pace.
- Create a fun, encouraging, and positive learning environment.
- Track student progress and provide feedback to parents when required.
- Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and consistency across all classes.
- Follow SkillWing Academy's curriculum, teaching standards, and class procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of chess rules, principles, tactics, and strategies.
- Proven experience as a Chess Coach, Chess Tutor, or Chess Instructor.
- Experience teaching children, preferably ages 4–14.
- Strong communication and explanation skills.
- Ability to make chess lessons engaging and interactive for young learners.
- Patient, friendly, and encouraging teaching approach.
- Good spoken English, especially for communicating with international/NRI students.
- Comfortable conducting classes through online platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with online chess platforms such as Chess.com, Lichess, or similar platforms is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with any of the following will be preferred:
- Recognized chess rating/title or strong tournament experience.
- FIDE-rated player.
- Experience participating in national, state, or international chess tournaments.
- Previous experience coaching children.
- Experience preparing students for chess competitions.
- Chess coaching certification or relevant training.
