Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Technical Support Trainee to join our IT Support team. The trainee will assist in providing first-level technical support for desktop systems, laptops, printers, and basic network infrastructure. This role is ideal for recent graduates or candidates looking to build a career in IT infrastructure and technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support for desktop, laptop, and peripheral devices.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and common software applications.
- Assist users with hardware and software issues through remote or onsite support.
- Set up and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Support basic LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and network connectivity troubleshooting.
- Configure user accounts, email clients, and shared resources.
- Perform routine system maintenance, software updates, and antivirus checks.
- Document support requests and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior support engineers when necessary.
- Maintain IT inventory and assist with asset management.
- Follow company IT policies and security guidelines.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of desktop hardware and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Windows 10/11 installation and configuration.
- Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, Wi-Fi).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and common business applications.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and work in a team environment.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Freshers are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365, or Microsoft 365.
- Basic understanding of printers and scanners.
- Exposure to remote desktop support tools.
- Basic knowledge of networking devices such as routers and switches.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA (or pursuing) are an added advantage.
