About Kwill
Kwill is the client portal for the world's service businesses — a SaaS platform used by freelancers, small studios, and independent professionals across 40+ countries. We're building the alternative to HoneyBook, Dubsado, and Bonsai. Our team is small, based in Amritsar, with the founding team in Waterloo, Canada. Launching July 2026.
About the Role
We're hiring a Frontend Developer Intern to help ship Kwill's freelancer dashboard, client portal, and landing pages. You'll work alongside our Frontend Developer and directly with the founder — writing real code that goes to production, not sitting in a training queue.
You'll be building features that our first 1,000 users will actually touch on launch day: proposal builders, contract flows, client-facing portals, invoice pages, and dashboard components. If you want to walk out of an internship with real shipped work in your portfolio, this is the environment for that.
Our stack: Next.js 14 (App Router), React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Supabase, Vercel. If you've built one or two side projects in this stack — or something close to it — you're ready to apply.
Responsibilities
- Build UI components and pages for the Kwill freelancer dashboard and client portal
- Implement designs from Figma into responsive, accessible React components
- Work on landing pages for getkwill.com — hero sections, feature grids, comparison pages
- Wire up client-side data fetching from Supabase and internal API routes
- Fix bugs across the dashboard, portal, and marketing site
- Contribute to the shared component library (buttons, inputs, cards, modals)
- Improve page performance — Core Web Vitals, bundle size, lazy loading
- Ship at least one meaningful feature per week — everything you build goes live
- Review your own work in Vercel preview deploys before opening PRs
Requirements
- Working knowledge of React (hooks, state, component composition)
- Familiarity with Next.js — App Router, Server Components, and Client Components
- Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals
- TypeScript basics — you know why it exists and can read a typed React component
- Comfort with Tailwind CSS
- Basic Git workflow — branching, PRs, resolving simple merge conflicts
- Ability to work full-time in Amritsar (in-person, not remote)
- A GitHub profile or 1–2 code samples showing what you can build
Nice to Have
- One or two live projects deployed on Vercel or similar
- Experience with shadcn/ui, Radix UI, or another headless component library
- Familiarity with Framer Motion, GSAP, or CSS animations
- Understanding of accessibility basics (semantic HTML, keyboard nav, ARIA)
- Basic Figma navigation — enough to inspect designs and pull assets
- Familiarity with Supabase, Clerk, or Stripe checkout flows
- Any open-source contributions
What We Offer
- Real production code shipping to real users from week one
- Direct mentorship from our Frontend Developer and weekly 1:1s with the founder
- Full code ownership on features you build — you'll drive them from Figma to production
- Working hours: Mon–Fri 12:30 PM – 7:30 PM IST, Sat 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM IST
- 1 paid leave day per month plus public holidays
- 3-month probation period
Interview Process
30-minute video call with the founder. Come ready to walk through your GitHub or a project you've built — how you thought about it, what you'd change, what you struggled with.
